UAB „Ortmeta" - įmonė, įkurta plastiko perdirbimo srityje veikiančių asmenų, siekiant naujų, pridėtinę vertę kuriančių produktų kūrimo tikslu. Įmonės tyrėjai jau kurį laiką kartu dirba su projekto partneriu pasirinktoje įmonėje dirbančiais mokslininkais, siekdami antrinio plastiko produkcijai išgauti panaudoti užterštas, šiam tikslui nenaudojamas medžiagas. Tyrėjai kaip žaliavą minėtam tikslui pasiekti analizuoja senus žvejybinius tinklus, virves, tralus, kurie paprastai yra laidojami jūroje, išmetami į sąvartyną, užkasami ar deginami, t.y. pakartotinai nepanaudojami ir neperdirbami. Projekto tikslas - sukurti technologiją, kuri leistų panaudotą žvejybinę techniką išvalyti nuo priemaišų ir panaudojant šią technologiją plastiko granulių gamybai. Tikslui įgyvendinti planuojama vykdyt mokslinių tyrimų ir eksperimentinės plėtros, t.y. bandymų, pilotinės gamybos ir kitas veiklas. Projekto rezultatais galima būtų vadinti ne tik naujo, pridėtinę vertę kuriančio produkto sukūrimą, bet ir aplinkosaugįnį projekto poveikį - sprendžiant vieną opiausių jūrų ir vandednynų taršos problemų, mažinant žalą vandens augalams ir gyvūnams. JSC “Ortmeta” is a company established by persons operating in the field of plastic recycling in order to develop new, value-added products. The company’s researchers have been working together for some time with scientists working with the project partner at the selected company to use contaminated materials not used for this purpose to extract secondary plastic products. Researchers analyse as raw material old fishing nets, ropes, trawls, which are usually buried at sea, discarded, buried or burned, i.e. not reused or recycled. The aim of the project is to develop a technology that will allow the used fishing technique to be cleaned of impurities and using this technology for the production of plastic pellets. Research and experimental development activities, i.e. testing, pilot production and other activities are planned to be carried out to achieve this objective. The results of the project could be termed not only the creation of a new, value-added product, but also the environmental impact of the project — addressing one of the most acute pollution problems of the seas and vanden areas, reducing damage to aquatic plants and animals.
