North Atlantic recent intensive use and resources exploitation, specifically in the Azores require a new maritime planning culture. Portugal has developed initiatives under a global Maritime Strategy, however, sector policies integration is still lacking and coordination is very fallible. Structured in 5 coherent tasks, GPS Azores will contribute to fill this knowledge gap and support Maritime Spatial Planning. (English)

A recente utilização intensiva e a exploração dos recursos no Atlântico Norte, nomeadamente nos Açores, exigem uma nova cultura de planeamento marítimo. Portugal desenvolveu iniciativas no âmbito de uma estratégia marítima global, no entanto, a integração das políticas setoriais continua a faltar e a coordenação é muito fraca. Estruturado em 5 tarefas coerentes, o GPS Açores contribuirá para colmatar esta lacuna de conhecimentos e apoiar o ordenamento do espaço marítimo. (Portuguese)

L’utilisation et l’exploitation intensives récentes des ressources dans l’Atlantique Nord, notamment aux Açores, nécessitent une nouvelle culture de la planification maritime. Le Portugal a développé des initiatives dans le cadre d’une stratégie maritime globale, mais l’intégration des politiques sectorielles reste insuffisante et la coordination est très faible. Structuré en cinq tâches cohérentes, le GPS des Açores contribuera à combler ce déficit de connaissances et soutiendra la planification de l’espace maritime. (French)

Die in jüngster Zeit intensive Nutzung und Nutzung der Ressourcen im Nordatlantik, insbesondere auf den Azoren, erfordert eine neue maritime Planungskultur. Portugal hat im Rahmen einer umfassenden maritimen Strategie Initiativen entwickelt, doch fehlt es an der Integration der sektoralen Politiken, und die Koordinierung ist sehr schwach. Die GPS-Azoren, die in fünf kohärente Aufgaben gegliedert sind, werden dazu beitragen, diese Wissenslücke zu schließen und die maritime Raumplanung zu unterstützen. (German)
