A zona central do PNSSM foi percorrida por incêndio em 2003 e apresenta hoje significativas manchas de regeneração natural de pinheiro bravo, quercíneas e castanheiros no seio dos matos, numa estrutura contínua, densa e de elevada carga de combustível. No projeto é proposto realizar a condução de quercíneas autóctones para promover o seu desenvolvimento e adensar áreas para formação de futuros habitats. (Portuguese)

La zone centrale du PNSSM a été couverte par un incendie en 2003 et présente aujourd’hui d’importantes taches de régénération naturelle de pins sauvages, d’épices et de châtaigniers dans les buissons, dans une structure continue, dense et à forte charge de combustible. Dans le projet, il est proposé de réaliser la conduction des kericoneas autochtones afin de promouvoir leur développement et d’épaissir des zones pour la formation d’habitats futurs. (French)

Der zentrale Bereich des PNSSM wurde 2003 von Feuer bedeckt und zeigt nun bedeutende natürliche Regenerationsflecken von wilden Kiefern, Gewürzen und Kastanienbäumen in den Büschen in einer kontinuierlichen, dichten und hohen Brennstofflaststruktur. Im Projekt wird vorgeschlagen, die Leitung von autochthonen Kericoneas durchzuführen, um ihre Entwicklung zu fördern und Gebiete für die Bildung künftiger Lebensräume zu verdicken. (German)
