Het antibioticagebruik in de melkveehouderij is voor 60% gericht op het voorkomen en bestrijden van uierontsteking (mastitis). Mastivax bv heeft een antibiotica vervangend prototype product ontwikkeld tegen deze ziekte gebaseerd op natuurlijke koe-eigen antistoffen met antibacteriële werking, plus immuuncellen uit de koe zelf. Er is zuiverings- en verwerkingstechnologie ontwikkeld om deze stoffen op te werken tot antibacteriële preparaten die niet alleen functioneel zijn, maar ook betaalbaar zijn voor de melkveehouderij. Het ‘Mastivax prototypeproduct’ bestaat uit (1) een IgG prepraat geproduceerd uit biestwei en kaaswei, (2) een in de stal te bereiden neutrofielen preparaat; en (3) een bijbehorend handelingsprotocol.Het ‘Mastivax prototypeproduct’ kan nu op laboratoriumschaal worden geproduceerd. Subsidie wordt gevraagd voor het opschalen ervan naar een prototype product dat in de komende twee jaren getest (in combinatie met een behandelingswijze) zal worden in droog te zetten koeien ter preventie van mastitis en in koeien ter behandeling van mastitis. Parallel daaraan loopt het fine-tunen van de technologie en bijbehorende behandelingsprotocollen. Bij het bereiken van haar doelen kan Mastivax met dit product, afkomstig uit de afvalstromen, een forse omzet te genereren. Het antibiotica gebruik, in relatie tot mastitis, zal dan fors gereduceerd worden terwijl er aanzienlijke werkgelegenheid wordt gecreëerd. (Dutch)

The use of antibiotics in dairy farming is 60 % focused on preventing and combating udder inflammation (mastitis). Mastivax bv has developed an antibiotic replacement prototype product against this disease based on natural cow’s own antibodies with antibacterial action, plus immune cells from the cow itself. Purification and processing technology has been developed to transform these substances into antibacterial preparations that are not only functional but also affordable for dairy farming. The ‘Mastivax prototype product’ consists of (1) an IgG pre-rat produced from colostrum and cheese whey, (2) a neutrophil preparation to be prepared in the house; and (3) a corresponding protocol of action.The ‘Mastivax prototype product’ can now be produced on a laboratory scale. Subsidy is requested for its upscaling to a prototype product that will be tested (in combination with a treatment) in cows to be dried in the next two years to prevent mastitis and in cows to treat mastitis. In parallel, the fine-tuning of the technology and associated treatment protocols is ongoing. In achieving its goals, Mastivax can generate a significant turnover with this product, from the waste streams. Antibiotic use, in relation to mastitis, will then be significantly reduced while creating significant jobs. (English)

L’utilisation d’antibiotiques dans l’élevage laitier est axée à 60 % sur la prévention et la lutte contre l’inflammation mammaire (mastite). Mastivax bv a développé un prototype d’antibiotiques de remplacement contre cette maladie basé sur les anticorps naturels de la vache avec action antibactérienne, ainsi que sur les cellules immunitaires de la vache elle-même. Des technologies de purification et de transformation ont été mises au point pour transformer ces substances en préparations antibactériennes non seulement fonctionnelles, mais aussi abordables pour l’élevage laitier. Le «produit prototype Mastivax» est constitué: 1) d’un prérat IgG produit à partir de colostrum et de lactosérum à fromage, 2) d’une préparation de neutrophiles à préparer dans la maison; et (3) un protocole d’action correspondant.Le «produit prototype Mastivax» peut maintenant être produit à l’échelle du laboratoire. Une subvention est demandée pour sa mise à l’échelle d’un prototype de produit qui sera testé (en combinaison avec un traitement) chez les vaches qui seront séchées au cours des deux prochaines années afin de prévenir la mammite et chez les vaches pour traiter la mammite. Parallèlement, l’amélioration de la technologie et des protocoles de traitement connexes est en cours. Pour atteindre ses objectifs, Mastivax peut générer un chiffre d’affaires significatif avec ce produit, à partir des flux de déchets. L’utilisation d’antibiotiques, par rapport à la mammite, sera alors considérablement réduite tout en créant des emplois importants. (French)
