    A variação genética nos genomas de 3,000 animais Porco Alentejano será estudada com sequenciação de última geração. Estudos de associação entre SNPs identificados e fenótipos recolhidos (crescimento, produtividade por porca, características da carcaça, qualidade da carne) identificarão marcadores moleculares para utilização no programa de melhoramento. Será ainda desenvolvido um sistema de traçabilidade molecular para a raça e os seus produtos. (Portuguese)

    The genetic variation in the genomes of 3,000 Alentejan pig animals will be studied with last generation sequencing. Association studies between identified SNPs and collected phenotypes (growth, nut productivity, carcass characteristics, meat quality) will identify molecular markers for use in the improvement programme. A molecular traceability system will also be developed for the breed and its products. (English)

    La variation génétique des génomes de 3 000 porcs d’Alentejan sera étudiée avec un séquençage de pointe. Des études associant des SNP identifiés et des phénotypes collectés (croissance, productivité des noix, caractéristiques de la carcasse, qualité de la viande) permettront d’identifier les marqueurs moléculaires devant être utilisés dans le programme de sélection. Un système de traçabilité moléculaire de la race et de ses produits sera également mis au point. (French)

Studien zur Verknüpfung identifizierter SNPs und gesammelter Phänotypen (Wachstum, Nüsseproduktivität, Schlachtkörpereigenschaften, Fleischqualität) werden molekulare Marker für die Verwendung im Zuchtprogramm identifizieren. Darüber hinaus wird ein molekulares Rückverfolgbarkeitssystem für die Rasse und ihre Produkte entwickelt. (German)
