Breast cancer affects millions of women worldwide, with more than 600k deaths/year. To tackle this problem, early diagnosis with breast imaging and biopsy, and later lesion extraction, are essential. OncoNAVIGATOR aims to develop a navigation framework, combining medical robotics, magnetic location and image processing, to assist the physician during breast oncological interventions. Thus, a fast, precise, and easier procedure, is expected. (English)

O cancro de mama afeta milhões de raparigas em todo o mundo, com mais de 600 mil mortes/ano. Para enfrentar esse problema, o diagnóstico precoce com imagem mamária e biópsia e, posteriormente, a extração da lesão, são essenciais. O OncoNAVIGATOR tem como objetivo desenvolver uma estrutura de navegação, combinando robótica médica, localização magnética e processamento de imagens, para auxiliar o médico durante as intervenções oncológicas da mama. Assim, espera-se um procedimento rápido, preciso e mais fácil. (Portuguese)
