EL PROYECTO COMPRENDE DOS LINEAS DE TRABAJO QUE COMPARTEN EL MISMO PROPOSITO GENERAL. ASI, SE PRETENDE EL DESARROLLO DE NUEVAS ESTRATEGIAS BASADAS EN MICROEXTRACCION LIQUIDO-LIQUIDO PARA LA DETERMINACION A MUY BAJAS CONCENTRACIONES TANTO DE METALES (CROMO, ARSENICO, ANTIMONIO, SELENIO, MERCURIO, VANADIO, PLOMO Y CADMIO ENTRE OTROS) COMO DE ESPECIES ORGANICAS DIVERSAS (ALGUNOS COMPUESTOS ORGANICOS PERSISTENTES, NUEVAS FAMILIAS DE PESTICIDAS, RESIDUOS DE FOSFODIESTERASA-5 EN AGUAS, FLAVONOIDES, ENTRE OTROS) DE INTERES PARA EL LABORATORIO QUIMICO-ANALITICO EN LOS AMBITOS AGROALIMENTARIO Y AMBIENTAL. LAS ESTRATEGIAS SE BASAN EN EL EMPLEO DE PROCESOS COACERVATIVOS QUE NO INVOLUCRAN DISOLVENTES ORGANICOS Y QUE EMPLEAN REACTIVOS DE BAJO COSTO Y TOXICIDAD. EN EL CASO DE LOS ANALITOS INORGANICOS SE PRETENDE ASIMISMO SU ESPECIACION NO CROMATOGRAFICA. PARA LOS COMPUESTOS ORGANICOS, LOS COACERVATOS SE SOMETERAN A CROMATOGRAFIA LIQUIDA O GASEOSA DESARROLLANDO ALTERNATIVAS NO CONVENCIONALES PARA FACILITAR LA DETERMINACION SIN DETERIORO DE LAS COLUMNAS. POR OTRA PARTE, SE PRETENDE ASIMISMO DESARROLLAR NUEVAS ESTRATEGIAS PARA LOS MISMOS GRUPOS DE ANALITOS EMPLEANDO MICROEXTRACCION LIQUIDO-SOLIDO IMPLICANDO DIVERSOS TIPOS DE NANOPARTICULAS (DE PLATA, ORO, BASADAS EN CARBONO, CELULOSA, OXIDOS DE ALUMINIO Y TITANIO) Y NANOCOMPOSITES PREPARADOS A PARTIR DE ELLAS, EN ESPECIAL DE NANOPARTICULAS MAGNETICAS. EN TODOS LOS CASOS SE PRESTARA ESPECIAL ATENCION A LAS POSIBILIDADES DE AUTOMATIZACION, UN TEMA DE CLARO INTERES YA QUE LA MAYORIA DE LOS DESARROLLOS HASTA AHORA PUBLICADOS SE BASAN EN SISTEMAS DISCONTINUOS. LAS ESTRATEGIAS A UTILIZAR, ADEMAS DE ESTAR AVALADAS POR PUBLICACIONES PREVIAS, SE APOYAN EN LA EXPERIENCIA Y RESULTADOS YA OBTENIDOS POR EL GRUPO SOLICITANTE EN UN PROYECTO DEL PLAN NACIONAL QUE AHORA CONCLUYE.     THE PROJECT AIMS TO OBTAIN SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS IN THE ANALYTICAL LABORATORY, AND THEREFORE IN THE PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY OF ITS RESULTS, INFLUENCING THE STAGE OF PREPARATION OF THE SAMPLE THROUGH THE MODERN TECHNIQUES OF MICROEXTRACCION COMBINED WITH A MEASUREMENT STAGE INVOLVING A SMALL VOLUME OF SOLUTION. IN THIS WAY, THE AIM IS TO REDUCE THE CONSUMPTION OF ORGANIC SOLVENTS (AND WASTE GENERATION) AND A HIGHER PRECONCENTRATION FACTOR BEFORE THE FINAL MEASUREMENT, WHICH CAN BE DONE WITH GREATER SPEED AND SENSITIVITY USING THE INSTRUMENTATION USUALLY PRESENT IN LABORATORIES. THE PROJECT COMPRISES TWO LINES OF WORK THAT SHARE THE SAME GENERAL PURPOSE. THUS, THE AIM IS TO DEVELOP NEW STRATEGIES BASED ON LIQUID-LIQUID MICROEXTRACCION FOR THE DETERMINATION AT VERY LOW CONCENTRATIONS OF BOTH METALS (CHROME, ARSENIC, ANTIMONY, SELENIUM, MERCURY, VANADIUM, LEAD AND CADMIUM AMONG OTHERS) AND OF VARIOUS ORGANIC SPECIES (SOME PERSISTENT ORGANIC COMPOUNDS, NEW FAMILIES OF PESTICIDES, RESIDUES OF PHOSPHODIESTERASE-5 IN WATER, FLAVONOIDS, AMONG OTHERS) OF INTEREST FOR THE CHEMICAL-ANALYTIC LABORATORY IN THE AGRO-FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL FIELDS. STRATEGIES ARE BASED ON THE USE OF COACERVATIVE PROCESSES THAT DO NOT INVOLVE ORGANIC SOLVENTS AND THAT EMPLOY LOW-COST REAGENTS AND TOXICITY. IN THE CASE OF INORGANIC ANALYTES, THEIR NON-CHROMATOGRAPHIC SPECIATION IS ALSO INTENDED. FOR ORGANIC COMPOUNDS, COACERVATS SHALL UNDERGO LIQUID OR GASEOUS CHROMATOGRAPHING BY DEVELOPING UNCONVENTIONAL ALTERNATIVES TO FACILITATE THE DETERMINATION WITHOUT DETERIORATION OF THE COLUMNS. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT IS ALSO INTENDED TO DEVELOP NEW STRATEGIES FOR THE SAME GROUPS OF ANALYTES USING MICROEXTRACCION LIQUID-SOLID INVOLVING VARIOUS TYPES OF NANOPARTICULATES (SILVER, GOLD, CARBON BASED, CELLULOSE, ALUMINIUM OXIDES AND TITANIUM) AND NANOCOMPOSITES PREPARED FROM THEM, ESPECIALLY MAGNETIC NANOPARTICULATES. IN ALL CASES SPECIAL ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO THE POSSIBILITIES OF AUTOMATION, A SUBJECT OF CLEAR INTEREST SINCE MOST OF THE DEVELOPMENTS SO FAR PUBLISHED ARE BASED ON DISCONTINUOUS SYSTEMS. THE STRATEGIES TO BE USED, IN ADDITION TO BEING SUPPORTED BY PREVIOUS PUBLICATIONS, ARE BASED ON THE EXPERIENCE AND RESULTS ALREADY OBTAINED BY THE APPLICANT GROUP IN A DRAFT OF THE NATIONAL PLAN THAT IS NOW CONCLUDED.
