El objetivo general del Área de Instrumentación del Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias es dar soporte tecnológico y desarrollar proyectos instrumentales impulsados por los proyectos de investigación astrofísica. _x000D_ El objetivo de esta propuesta es la adquisición de equipamiento específico para mejorar las infraestructuras en cuanto a ingeniería mecánica de las que dispone el IAC para dar soporte a las necesidades instrumentales de los proyectos de investigación astrofísica. En concreto, se propone la adquisición de sistemas criogénicos, sistemas de posicionado de precisión de elementos opto-mecánicos y equipos de ensayo y utillaje para el laboratorio de integración mecánica. Estas mejoras en el equipamiento son imprescindibles para apoyar los desarrollos de los grandes proyectos instrumentales por los que la comunidad astronómica española y europea está apostando, como son e.g. el Telescopio Solar Europeo (EST) y su instrumentación, el telescopio europeo extremadamente grande (EELT) y su instrumentación asociada (HARMONI, HIRES), el experimento QUIJOTE y sus instrumentos, entre otros. The general objective of the Instrumentation Area of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias is to provide technological support and develop instrumental projects promoted by astrophysical research projects. _x000D_ the objective of this proposal is the acquisition of specific equipment to improve the mechanical engineering infrastructures available to the IAC to support the instrumental needs of astrophysical research projects. In particular, it is proposed to acquire cryogenic systems, precision positioning systems of opto-mechanical elements and test and tooling equipment for the mechanical integration laboratory. These improvements in equipment are essential to support the development of the major instrumental projects for which the Spanish and European astronomical community is betting, e.g. the European Solar Telescope (EST) and its instrumentation, the extremely large European telescope (EELT) and its associated instrumentation (HARMONI, HIRES), the QUIJOTE experiment and its instruments, among others.
