The project development of tourist – recreational potential and water tourism in Svetly and Malbork towns (PHASE 2) is applying for co-financing out of funds from the CBC Programme Poland – Russia, Thematic Objective HERITAGE: Promotion of local culture and preservation of historical heritage, Priority 1. Cooperating on historical, natural and cultural heritage for their preservation and cross-border development. Svetly and Malbork will contribute to the solution of the common challenge of the Programme area in a joint project: the development of the tourism potential of their cities, which have historical and cultural value. Thus overall objective of the LIP is to support the local culture and preservation of the historical heritage of the both towns and the development of water tourism between Kaliningrad oblast and the Republic of Poland as a whole through the use of International waterway E70. The project will lead to an increase in tourist activity and further tightening of cross-border cooperation with regard to common promotion of a rich tourist offer among Polish, Russian and foreign tourists. Malbork, being one of the most important Teutonic city, has a lot of medieval buildings and monuments. Nowadays a lot of effort is given to preserve heritage of Teutons in the whole town (including waterfronts close to the Teutonic Castle). The main outputs of the project: • Improvement of important historical, cultural and tourist facilities – a town waterfront (the promenade along the navigable sea canal with berths for pleasure craft) and the adjacent Town Park in Svetly, and city boulevards/waterfront with view point and playground in Malbork for subsequent increase tourism attractiveness through provision of new tourist facilities for tourists; • Preparation of technical documentation for the repair of the historic Old Town Hall in Malbork; • To provide collaborative efficient management of the Project by both cities (the result of close cooperation (Polish)

Le projet de développement du potentiel touristique — récréatif et du tourisme aquatique dans les villes de Svetly et de Malbork (PHASE 2) demande un cofinancement sur les fonds du programme de coopération transfrontalière Pologne-Russie, Objectif thématique HERITAGE: Promotion de la culture locale et préservation du patrimoine historique, Priorité 1. Coopérer sur le patrimoine historique, naturel et culturel en vue de leur préservation et de leur développement transfrontalier. Svetly et Malbork contribueront à la solution du défi commun de la zone couverte par le programme dans le cadre d’un projet commun: le développement du potentiel touristique de leurs villes, qui ont une valeur historique et culturelle. Ainsi, l’objectif général de la LIP est de soutenir la culture locale et la préservation du patrimoine historique des deux villes et le développement du tourisme aquatique entre l’oblast de Kaliningrad et la République de Pologne dans son ensemble par l’utilisation de la voie navigable internationale E70. Le projet permettra d’accroître l’activité touristique et de resserrer encore la coopération transfrontalière en ce qui concerne la promotion commune d’une offre touristique riche parmi les touristes polonais, russes et étrangers. Malbork, l’une des villes Teutonic les plus importantes, possède beaucoup de bâtiments et de monuments médiévaux. Aujourd’hui, beaucoup d’efforts sont consentis pour préserver le patrimoine de Teutons dans toute la ville (y compris les bords de mer à proximité du château Teutonic). Les principaux résultats du projet: • L’amélioration d’importantes installations historiques, culturelles et touristiques — un front de mer urbain (promenade le long du canal maritime navigable avec des postes d’amarrage pour les bateaux de plaisance) et le parc municipal adjacent à Svetly, ainsi que des boulevards urbains/front de mer avec un point de vue et une aire de jeux à Malbork, afin d’accroître l’attrait touristique par la mise à disposition de nouvelles installations touristiques pour les touristes; • Préparation de la documentation technique pour la réparation de la vieille mairie historique de Malbork; • Assurer une gestion collaborative efficace du projet par les deux villes (résultat d’une coopération étroite) (French)
