Με το μοντέλο διαβίωσης σε ΣΥΔ αναγνωρίζεται το δικαίωμα του ατόμου να ζήσει σε ένα περιβάλλον που προσομοιάζει με το οικογενειακό , λαμβάνοντας υπόψη και καλύπτοντας παράλληλα τις ιδιαίτερες ανάγκες του. Με αυτό τον τρόπο αποφεύγεται η ιδρυματοποίηση και υιοθετούνται πρακτικές που σέβονται τα δικαιώματα των ΑμεΑ. Με αυτή τη πράξη προτείνεται η λειτουργία τριών ΣΥΔ οι οποίες θα καλύψουν τις ανάγκες 18 ΑμεΑ και θα στελεχωθούν από εξειδικευμένο προσωπικό στήριξης και φροντίδας. Οι ΣΥΔ εντάσσονται στον κοινωνικό ιστό , στη γειτονιά , αναπτύσσονται δεσμοί και οι ένοικοι νοιώθουν ότι είναι μέλη της κοινότητας (ψωνίζουν από τα μαγαζιά , πηγαίνουν στην εκκλησία , συμμετέχουν σε εκδηλώσεις). Παράλληλα δίνεται η δυνατότητα να τους επισκέπτεται η οικογένειά τους και να ανταποδίδουν τις επισκέψεις ενισχύοντας τους δεσμούς με την οικογένεια .Οι ένοικοι θα παρακολουθούν πρόγραμμα εκπαίδευσης με στόχο τη συντήρηση ή την ενίσχυση των δεξιοτήτων τους , γίνεται προσπάθεια για ένταξή τους στην αγορά εργασίας ανάλογα με τις δυνατότητες του κάθε ενοίκου και εφόσον αυτές το επιτρέπουν, ενώ θα υπάρξει και πρόγραμμα ψυχαγωγικών δραστηριοτήτων(έξοδοι για καφέ , για φαγητό , εκδρομές ,παρακολούθηση εκδηλώσεων). Η διαβίωση των ΑμεΑ στις ΣΥΔ επικεντρώνεται στις δυνατότητές του και όχι μόνο στις αδυναμίες του. (Greek)

The model of living in an ADS recognises the right of the individual to live in an environment that resembles the family, taking into account and at the same time meeting his/her particular needs. In this way, institutionalisation is avoided and practices that respect the rights of disabled people are adopted. This action proposes the operation of three DSSs that will meet the needs of 18 people with disabilities and will be staffed by specialised support and care personnel. The social fabric, the neighborhood, bonds develop and the residents feel that they are members of the community (shopping, going to church, participating in events). At the same time, there is the opportunity to be visited by their family and to return visits by strengthening ties with the family.Owners will attend a training program to maintain or enhance their skills, an effort is made to integrate them into the labour market according to the possibilities of each resident and if they allow it, while there will be a program of recreational activities (expenses for coffee, food, excursions, monitoring events). The living of people with disabilities in the DSS focuses on its capabilities and not only on its weaknesses. (English)
