Komarci su najsmrtonosnije životinje na Zemlji. Na području RH se bilježi porast populacija invazivnih, ali i pojedinih autohtonih vrsta jer mjere kontrole nisu prilagođene klimatskim promjenama. Projektom će se razviti sustav predviđanja dinamike populacija komaraca u ovisnosti o okolišnim parametrima, omogućiti predviđanje posljedica klimatskih promjena na tu dinamiku, te razviti sustav prilagodbe mjera kontrole njihove populacije klimatskim promjenama. Opsežna diseminacija osigurat će održivost rezultata i podizanje svijesti o posljedicama klimatskih promjena u RH. (Croatian)

Mosquitoes are the most lethal terrestrial animals on Earth. The population of invasive alien species and native species are growing in Croatia, since control measures are not adapted to climate change. The project will develop a system of predicting the dynamics of mosquitoes’ populations in dependence on environmental parameters, allowing for anticipating the effects of climate change on this dynamic and developing a system for adapting control measures to their populations. The extensive dissemination will ensure the sustainability of results and raise awareness on the consequences of climate change in the Republic of Croatia. (English)
