Saamelaisalueen koulutuskeskus on kehittänyt tieto- ja viestintäteknologian opetuskäyttöä (TVT) ja etenkin etäopetusta hanketyönä jo edellisellä EU ohjelmakaudella (2007-2013) sekä esiselvityshankkeessa Askel arktiseen pedagogiikkaan saamelaisalueella (1.1.2015-29.2.2016). Oppilaitoksen virtuaalikoulun tieto- ja viestintätekniikan opetuskäytön osaaminen on vankalla pohjalla, mutta opetushenkilöstön osaaminen ja osaamistarpeet ovat vaihtelevia koko saamelaisalueella. Tämän hankkeen myötä saamelaisalueen koulutuskeskuksen virtuaalikoulu ottaa tehtäväkseen toimia alueen TVT:n opetuskäytön tukipalveluorganisaationa ja kouluttajana. Hankkeessa pyritään uudenlaisiin koulutusinnovaatioihin, joita testataan ja kehitetään yhteistyössä alueen lukioiden, SAKK:n ja yliopiston kanssa. Hankkeen tavoitteena on 1)lisätä hankkeen kohderyhmään kuuluvan opetushenkilöstön TVT:n opetuskäytön osaamista sekä tukea opetushenkilöstöä uudenlaisen pedagogiikan omaksumisessa, 2) lisätä työelämän TVT:n käytön osaamista kouluttamalla alueen työvoimaa, 3) suunnitella ja toteuttaa opetuksellisia teknologiapohjaisia kokeiluja/pilotteja arktiseen luontoon ja saamelaiskulttuuriin liittyen, 4) kehittää erilaisia TVT-pohjaisia ohjaustoimenpiteitä, joiden avulla lisätään koulutuksen saatavuutta asuinpaikasta riippumatta sekä tehostetaan opintojen läpäisyä, 5) lisätä opiskelijoiden TVT:n monimuotoista käyttöä, 6)arktisen luonnon, saamelaiselinkeinojen ja saamelaiskulttuurin huomioiminen koulutuksen kehittämisessä sekä 7) hankkia tietoa ja ymmärrystä pelillisestä oppimisesta. Hankkeessa selvitetään sitä, mitä pelillisyys tarjoaa oppimiseen ja miten oppimispelejä voitaisiin tuottaa yhdessä opiskelijoiden kanssa osana opintoja. Perinteisille saamelaiselinkeinoille muuttuva maailma ja ympäristöt ovat sekä haaste että mahdollisuus. Hankkeessa etsitään vastauksia mm. siihen miten yhdistetään informaali ja formaali oppiminen. Ja millaisia mahdollisuuksia digitalisaatio tuo perinteisten elinkeinojen oppimiseen, opettamiseen ja perinteen säilyttämiseen. Hankkeessa kehitetään joustavia koulutuksen toteutusmalleja saamelaisalueelle, jotta perinteiset elinkeinot saadaan pidettyä kilpailukykyisinä muun koulutustarjonnan rinnalla. Hankkeessa luodaan iältään, koulutustaustaltaan ja -tavoitteiltaan erilaisille opiskelijoille uusia tasa-arvoisempia mahdollisuuksia ja taitoja hankkia koulutusta asuinpaikasta riippumatta. Hankkeen tuloksena on uudenlainen tieto- ja viestintäteknologiaa hyödyntävä pedagogiikka, jossa oppiminen on keskiössä. Tähän liittyy joustavat koulutus-/opetusjärjestelyt, opiskelijoiden uudenlaiset työskentelytavat ja pelilliset oppimisympäristöt. Hankkeessa tuotetaan lisäksi uutta tutkimustietoa TVT:n opetuskäytöstä saamelaisalueella sekä vahvistetaan yliopistoyhteistyötä.” (Finnish)

The Sámi Education Centre has developed the teaching use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and, in particular, distance teaching as project work already in the previous EU programming period (2007-2013) and in the pre-study project Askel for Arctic pedagogy in the Sámi region (1.1.2015-29.2.2016). The teaching skills of the educational institution’s virtual school are solid, but the competences and skills needs of the teaching staff vary throughout the Sámi region. As a result of this project, the virtual school of the Sámi Training Centre will be tasked with acting as an organisation and trainer for the educational use of ICT in the region. The project aims at new types of educational innovations that will be tested and developed in cooperation with the region’s upper secondary schools, SAKK and the University. The aim of the project is to 1) increase the knowledge of ICT teaching staff in the target group of the project and support teaching staff in the adoption of new types of pedagogy, 2) increase the competence in the use of ICT in working life by training the region’s workforce, 3) design and implement educational technology-based experiments/pilots related to the Arctic nature and Sámi culture, 4) develop a variety of ICT-based guidance measures to increase access to education regardless of where they live, as well as improve study penetration, 5) to increase the diverse use of ICT by students, 6) to take into account arctic nature, Sámi industries and Sámi culture in the development of education, and 7) to acquire knowledge and understanding of gamut learning. The project explores what gamification offers for learning and how learning games could be produced together with students as part of their studies. The changing world and environments for traditional Sámi industries are both a challenge and an opportunity. The project seeks answers to, for example, how to combine informational and formal learning. And what opportunities digitalisation brings for traditional livelihoods to learn, teach and preserve tradition. The project will develop flexible training implementation models for the Sámi region, in order to keep traditional livelihoods competitive alongside other educational offerings. The project will create new, more equal opportunities and skills for students of different ages, educational backgrounds and objectives, regardless of their place of residence. The project will result in a new kind of ICT pedagogy, where learning is at the heart of learning. This involves flexible training/learning arrangements, new ways of working for students and gamified learning environments. The project will also produce new research data on the teaching use of ICT in the Sámi region and strengthen university cooperation.” (English)
