La photonique, science du photon, englobe la génération, l’amplification, la transmission, la détection, la manipulation des photons. La photonique est de plus en plus omniprésente dans notre société et dans un nombre croissant de secteurs de l'activité industrielle. L’action «Photonics 4 Society» a pour ambition de développer en Région Nord Pas de Calais un écosystème autour de la photonique utilisant des fibres optiques. Elle intégrera un continuum d’activités allant de la recherche fondamentale et appliquée, moteur de base de l’innovation, au développement, la démonstration et la qualification de nouvelles solutions. Photonics 4 Society propose des directions de recherches et développements identifiées dans H2020. Cette action, focalisée sur la primauté industrielle dans les TIC et la santé, s’appuie sur la technologie clef générique « Photonique » et fait une place importante à l’innovation dans les PME. Le projet comporte deux volets : un premier volet axé sur la recherche fondamentale et appliquée et le second sur la création de la plateforme d’innovation et de développement « Fibertech Lille», de laboratoires communs et de startups. Le premier volet est structuré en 3 axes. Le premier axe est dédié aux couplages Photon-Matière et Photon-Vivant: il s'articule tout naturellement autour des collaborations «mathématiques-physique-biologie» tissées entre les laboratoires Painlevé et PhLAM dans le cadre du LABEX CEMPI. Photonics, the science of photon, encompasses the generation, amplification, transmission, detection, manipulation of photons. Photonics is becoming more and more prevalent in our society and in a growing number of sectors of industrial activity. The aim of the action “Photonics 4 Society” is to develop an ecosystem around photonics using optical fibres in the Nord Pas de Calais Region. It will integrate a continuum of activities ranging from basic and applied research, which drives innovation, to the development, demonstration and qualification of new solutions. Photonics 4 Society offers research and development directions identified in H2020. This action, focusing on industrial leadership in ICT and health, builds on key generic technology “Photonics” and places an important place on innovation in SMEs. The project has two components: a first strand focused on basic and applied research and the second on the creation of the innovation and development platform “Fibertech Lille”, joint laboratories and startups. The first part is structured in 3 axes. The first axis is dedicated to Photon-Material and Photon-Vivant couplings: it is naturally based on the “mathematics-physics-biology” collaborations between Painlevé and PhLAM laboratories within the framework of LABEX CEMPI.
