A operação visa a reabilitação de espaços públicos centrais localizados no núcleo antigo da vila, através da demolição de um conjunto edificado em elevado estado de degradação e ruína, e ao subsequente arranjo urbanístico da área demolida, conferindo à envolvente da igreja matriz maior dignidade e em simultâneo resolver o problema de segurança que os edifícios representam para os transeuntes, bem como a repavimentação da Rua da Fonte Nova. The operation aims at the rehabilitation of central public spaces located in the old town center, through the demolition of a complex built in a state of high degradation and ruin, and the subsequent urban arrangement of the demolished area, giving the church’s surrounding matrix greater dignity and simultaneously solving the security problem that the buildings represent for passersby, as well as the restoration of Rua da Fonte Nova.
