The equipment is requested for the implementation of the Cybersecurity research area in the control systems of Electrical Substations and Transformation Centers, as a research unit complementary to the equipment of the Research Laboratory in Cybersecurity of Critical Infrastructures of the University of León (CIClab), approved and given by resolution of the State Secretariat for Research, Development and Innovation in Resolution of 19/11/2014 of the Plan of Infrastructure and Scientific-Technical Equipment of 2013._x000D_ The equipment requested aims to implement a monitoring and control structure corresponding to the distribution of electricity in Spain. For this purpose, the control architectures that are used in substations, transformation centers and centers of operation and control will be replicated faithfully to reality. _x000D_ _x000D_ often, in the area of critical infrastructure cybersecurity research, works with simulated equipment, which is less expensive and more manageable, limits the scope of testing and hides certain particularities of control systems. The use of a comprehensive infrastructure with real equipment for common use is therefore recommended, not only to give the laboratory greater versatility but also to reduce the knowledge gap between the area of computer security and the area of automation and control.
