LA MICROBIOTA HUMANA PUEDE CONSIDERARSE UN NUEVO ORGANO DE NUESTRO CUERPO. LA MICROBIOTA INTESTINAL EJERCE UNA GRAN INFLUENCIA EN LA SALUD Y LA ENFERMEDAD, Y SU ESTUDIO ES UN CAMPO DE ENORME INTERES CIENTIFICO EN LA ACTUALIDAD. LAS HECES CONSTITUYEN EL MATERIAL BIOLOGICO MAS USADO PARA SU ESTUDIO, Y DE HECHO, EL MATERIAL FECAL PODRIA REPRESENTAR EL ¿ULTIMO¿ PROBIOTICO. ASI, EL TRASPLANTE DE MICROBIOTA FECAL HA DESPERTADO UNA GRAN ATENCION EN LOS ULTIMOS AÑOS CON SU EXITO EN EL TRATAMIENTO DE INFECCIONES INTESTINALES RECURRENTES. SIN EMBARGO, HASTA LA FECHA NO SE HA LLEVADO A CABO NINGUN ESTUDIO DE EVALUACION DE LAS TECNICAS Y CONDICIONES MAS ADECUADAS PARA LA PRESERVACION DE LA MICROBIOTA FECAL, ASEGURANDO SU VIABILIDAD Y ACCESO DURANTE LARGOS PERIODOS DE TIEMPO. ESTO PERMITIRIA SU POSIBLE USO EN LA RESTAURACION DEL ECOSISTEMA INTESTINAL EN AQUELLAS SITUACIONES EN LAS QUE SE PRODUCEN PERTURBACIONES DEL EQUILIBRIO MICROBIANO, COMO LA ANTIBIOTERAPIA O LOS TRATAMIENTOS CITOTOXICOS CONTRA EL CANCER._x000D_ EL OBJETIVO DE ESTE PROYECTO ES ESTABLECER LAS BASES CIENTIFICAS PARA LA PRESERVACION, ALMACENAMIENTO Y PROPAGACION DE LA MICROBIOTA FECAL EN PACIENTES CON CANCER DE PROSTATA Y UTERO, PREVIAMENTE A SER SOMETIDOS A RADIOTERAPIA PELVICA. EL SEGUIMIENTO DE LA MICROBIOTA INTESTINAL DURANTE EL TRATAMIENTO Y POST-TRATAMIENTO, EL ANALISIS DE PARAMETROS INMUNOLOGICOS Y BIOQUIMICOS ASOCIADOS, ASI COMO LA VALORACION DE LA DIETA Y EL ESTADO DE SALUD INTESTINAL DE ESTOS PACIENTES PERMITIRA DETERMINAR LAS ALTERACIONES MICROBIANAS (DISBIOSIS) ASOCIADAS A LOS TRATAMIENTOS DE RADIOTERAPIA. SE IDENTIFICARAN LAS POBLACIONES DE MICROORGANISMOS MAS SUSCEPTIBLES A LA RADIACION Y LOS NUTRIENTES/ALIMENTOS MAS FAVORABLES PARA LA RECUPERACION DE LA FUNCION INTESTINAL Y EL MICROBIOMA. GRACIAS A LA LA PRESERVACION Y PROPAGACION DE LA MICROBIOTA FECAL PREVIA A LA RADIOTERAPIA SE DESARROLLARAN TECNICAS PARA EL DISEÑO DE PROBIOTICOS PERSONALIZADOS DE NUEVA GENERACION, BASADOS EN MICROBIOTA ENDOGENA O ¿PROPIA¿, PARA DISMINUIR LA PERTURBACION DEL BALANCE MICROBIANO INTESTINAL Y PALIAR LA SINTOMATOLOGIA ASOCIADA. PARA ELLO SE ESTABLECERAN E IMPLEMENTARAN PROTOCOLOS ADECUADOS PARA LA CONSERVACION DE MICROBIOTA FECAL VIABLE Y SE EMPLEARAN TECNICAS MICROBIANAS DE ALTA CAPACIDAD Y RESOLUCION, COMO LA METAGENOMICA Y LA CULTUROMICA._x000D_ ESTE PROYECTO GENERARA CONOCIMIENTO SOBRE EL IMPACTO DE LA RADIOTERAPIA EN EL MICROBIOMA INTESTINAL EN PACIENTES ONCOLOGICOS CON CANCER DE PROSTATA Y UTERO, UN CAMPO QUE APENAS HA SIDO ESTUDIADO. ADEMAS FACILITARA EL DESARROLLO DE NUEVOS PRODUCTOS/ALIMENTOS PARA CONTRARRESTAR LOS EFECTOS SECUNDARIOS INTESTINALES ASOCIADOS A LOS TRATAMIENTOS CONTRA EL CANCER._x000D_ HASTA DONDE ALCANZA NUESTRO CONOCIMIENTO, LA PRESENTE PROPUESTA SERIA LA PRIMERA DE ESTE TIPO EN EUROPA Y PROPORCIONARIA BENEFICIOS ADICIONALES A OTROS INVESTIGADORES DE DISTINTAS DISCIPLINAS, ASI COMO BIOBANCOS DE INSTITUCIONES SANITARIAS, INTERESADOS EN EL ALMACENAMIENTO Y PRESERVACION DE LA MICROBIOTA FECAL. ADEMAS, LOS RESULTADOS DE ESTE PROYECTO PUEDEN PROVEER A LOS CLINICOS Y A LA INDUSTRIA DE UNA ESTRATEGIA INNOVADORA PARA SU POSIBLE USO EN MEDICINA PERSONALIZADA, DIRIGIDA A LA RESTAURACION DEL ECOSISTEMA MICROBIANO INTESTINAL. THE HUMAN MICROBIOTA CAN BE CONSIDERED A NEW ORGAN OF OUR BODY. THE INTESTINAL MICROBIOTA EXERTS A GREAT INFLUENCE ON HEALTH AND DISEASE, AND ITS STUDY IS A FIELD OF ENORMOUS SCIENTIFIC INTEREST TODAY. FAECES ARE THE BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL MOST USED FOR THEIR STUDY, AND IN FACT, THE FECAL MATERIAL COULD REPRESENT THE LAST PROBIOTIC. THUS, FECAL MICROBIOTA TRANSPLANTATION HAS AROUSED GREAT ATTENTION IN THE LAST YEARS WITH ITS SUCCESS IN THE TREATMENT OF RECURRENT INTESTINAL INFECTIONS. HOWEVER, TO DATE NO STUDY HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT TO EVALUATE THE TECHNIQUES AND CONDITIONS MOST SUITABLE FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE FECAL MICROBIOTA, ENSURING ITS VIABILITY AND ACCESS FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. This would allow its use in the restoration of the INTESTINAL ECOSYSTEM in those situations in which the microbial equilibraium perturbations are produced, as antibiotherapy or cytotoxic treatment against CANCER._x000D_ THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT is to establish the scientific bases for the restoration, storage and preparation of the FECAL MICROBIOTE IN PACIENTS WITH PROSTATE AND UTERO, PREVENTLY BEING SOMETID TO RADIOTERAPIA pelvica. THE MONITORING OF THE INTESTINAL MICROBIOTA DURING TREATMENT AND POST-TREATMENT, THE ANALYSIS OF IMMUNOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DIET AND THE STATE OF INTESTINAL HEALTH OF THESE PATIENTS WILL ALLOW TO DETERMINE THE MICROBIAL ALTERATIONS (DYSBIOSIS) ASSOCIATED WITH RADIATION THERAPY TREATMENTS. THE POPULATIONS OF MICROORGANISMS MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO RADIATION AND THE NUTRIENTS/FOODS MORE FAVORABLE FOR THE RECOVERY OF INTESTINAL FUNCTION AND MICROBIOME WILL BE IDENTIFIED. THANKS TO THE PRESERVATION AND PROPAGATION OF THE FECAL MICROBIOTA PRIOR TO RADIATION THERAPY, TECHNIQUES WILL BE DEVELOPED FOR THE DESIGN OF NEW GENERATION PERSONALISED PROBIOTICS, BASED ON ENDOGENOUS MICROBIOTA OR APPROPRIATE, TO DECREASE THE DISTURBANCE OF THE INTESTINAL MICROBIAL BALANCE AND TO ALLEVIATE THE ASSOCIATED SYMPTOMATOLOGY. For it will be established and implemented PROTOCOLS ADECTED FOR THE CONSERVATION OF FECAL FECIAL MICROBIOTE VIABLE AND HIGH CAPACITY AND RESOLUTION microbial technology, as METAGENOMIC AND CULTUROMIC._x000D_ This project will generate knowledge about the impact of RADIOTERAPY in INTESTINAL MICROBIOMA in oncologic papriants with a potential for prostate and uterus, a CAMPO THAT YOU ARE BEEN STUDED. In addition, facilitate the development of new products/additions for countering the INTESTINAL SECUNDAR EFFECTS ASSOCIED TO TREATMENTS against CANCER._x000D_ HASTA where our know-how can be reached, the present proposal would be the first of this type in Europe and would provide additional benefits to other researchers of different disciplins, as well as biobanks of health facilities, interested in the storage and maintenance of the FECAL MICROBIOTA. IN ADDITION, THE RESULTS OF THIS PROJECT CAN PROVIDE CLINICS AND INDUSTRY WITH AN INNOVATIVE STRATEGY FOR ITS POSSIBLE USE IN PERSONALISED MEDICINE, AIMED AT RESTORING THE INTESTINAL MICROBIAL ECOSYSTEM.
