LOS SOLICITANTES LLEVAN MAS DE CINCO AÑOS TRABAJANDO EN EL DESARROLLO DE ORTESIS ACTIVAS DE RODILLA-TOBILLO-PIE DE BAJO COSTE PARA LA MARCHA DE LESIONADOS MEDULARES, HABIENDO LLEGADO A UN PROTOTIPO QUE UTILIZA UN MOTOR ELECTRICO PARA MOVER LA RODILLA DURANTE EL BALANCEO Y BLOQUEARLA DURANTE EL APOYO, CUYA ACTUACION SE CONTROLA EN FUNCION DEL GIRO DEL TOBILLO DEL PIE CONTRARIO (MEDIDO CON ENCODER) Y DEL ESTADO DE APOYO (MEDIDO CON SENSORES DE PRESION PLANTAR). EL SISTEMA ES PORTABLE MEDIANTE UNA MOCHILA QUE LLEVA EL USUARIO, EN LA QUE SE UBICAN UN PEQUEÑO ORDENADOR, LA TARJETA DE ADQUISICION, LOS DRIVERS DE LOS MOTORES Y LA BATERIA. UNA PACIENTE LESIONADA MEDULAR HA COLABORADO CON EL EQUIPO DURANTE TODO EL TIEMPO DE DESARROLLO Y, DESDE PRINCIPIOS DE ESTE AÑO, ESTA SIENDO SOMETIDA AL PROCESO DE ADAPTACION A LAS ORTESIS._x000D_ EL PROYECTO QUE SE SOLICITA PRETENDE AVANZAR EN EL DESARROLLO DE LAS ORTESIS ACTIVAS MENCIONADAS SEGUN LAS SIGUIENTES DIRECCIONES: 1) MEJORAR EL DISPOSITIVO EXISTENTE, AUMENTANDO SU ROBUSTEZ (MENOS SENSORES Y MAS FIABLES), PORTABILIDAD (REDUCCION DEL EQUIPAMIENTO NECESARIO), USABILIDAD (FACILITAR TRANSICIONES) Y EFICIENCIA (REDUCCION DEL CONSUMO ENERGETICO); 2) INTRODUCIR LA ELECTROESTIMULACION FUNCIONAL (FES) EN EL DISPOSITIVO, FUENTE DE MUCHOS BENEFICIOS PARA EL PACIENTE, CONTEMPLANDO SU INTEGRACION CON LA ACTUACION DEL MOTOR; 3) ESTUDIAR LA UTILIDAD PARA USUARIOS CON DISTINTOS NIVELES DE LESION, AMPLIANDO EL NUMERO DE PACIENTES, DE MANERA QUE SE PUEDA ESTABLECER UN PROTOCOLO PARA EL PROCESO DE ADAPTACION, TAN IMPORTANTE PARA EL EXITO DEL DISPOSITIVO COMO LAS PROPIAS CARACTERISTICAS TECNICAS DEL MISMO; 4) PROFUNDIZAR EN LA UTILIZACION DE METODOS DE SIMULACION DE APOYO AL DISEÑO Y LA ADAPTACION, ABORDANDO EL ANALISIS Y LA PREDICCION DE MOVIMIENTO MEDIANTE MODELOS NEURO-MUSCULO-ESQUELETICOS SUJETO-ORTESIS PERSONALIZADOS. APPLICANTS HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR MORE THAN FIVE YEARS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-COST KNEE-TONKLE-FOOT ACTIVE ORTHESIS FOR THE MARCH OF SPINAL INJURIES, HAVING REACHED A PROTOTYPE THAT USES AN ELECTRIC MOTOR TO MOVE THE KNEE DURING THE SWING AND BLOCK IT DURING THE SUPPORT, WHOSE PERFORMANCE IS CONTROLLED ACCORDING TO THE ROTATION OF THE ANKLE OF THE OPPOSITE FOOT (MEASURED WITH ENCODER) AND THE SUPPORT STATE (MEASURED WITH PLANTAR PRESSURE SENSORS). THE SYSTEM IS PORTABLE BY MEANS OF A BACKPACK CARRIED BY THE USER, IN WHICH A SMALL COMPUTER, THE ACQUISITION CARD, THE DRIVERS OF THE ENGINES AND THE BATTERY ARE LOCATED. A MEDULAR PATIENT INCLUDED WITH THE DURANT EQUIPMENT ALL THE TIME OF DEVELOPMENT AND, FROM PRINCIPES OF THIS YEAR, I am adhering to the process of adaptation to ORTESIS._x000D_ THE PROJECT THIS REQUESTS TO BE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVE ORTHERS MENCIONED WITH THE Following Directions: 1) IMPROVE THE EXISTING DEVICE, INCREASING ITS ROBUSTNESS (LESS SENSORS AND MORE RELIABLE), PORTABILITY (REDUCING THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT), USABILITY (FACILITATE TRANSITIONS) AND EFFICIENCY (REDUCING ENERGY CONSUMPTION); 2) INTRODUCE FUNCTIONAL ELECTROSTIMULATION (FES) INTO THE DEVICE, SOURCE OF MANY BENEFITS FOR THE PATIENT, CONTEMPLATING ITS INTEGRATION WITH THE OPERATION OF THE MOTOR; 3) STUDY THE USEFULNESS FOR USERS WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF INJURY, EXPANDING THE NUMBER OF PATIENTS, SO THAT A PROTOCOL FOR THE ADAPTATION PROCESS CAN BE ESTABLISHED, AS IMPORTANT FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE DEVICE AS THE TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DEVICE ITSELF; 4) DEEPENING THE USE OF SIMULATION METHODS TO SUPPORT DESIGN AND ADAPTATION, ADDRESSING THE ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION OF MOVEMENT THROUGH CUSTOMISED NEURO-MUSCULO-SKELETON-SUBJECT-ORTHESIS MODELS.
