The low vibration closed-cycle cryostat for experiments of optical micro-spectroscopy and optical/quantum photonics is the ideal equipment to expand the range of experiments that can currently be carried out in our "Laboratory of Optical Spectroscopy for Nanosciences" (Institute of Science of the Materials of the University of Valencia, whose leader is the responsible of the present application). Our current cryogenic microscope only allows experiments with a single optical access/axis using a cryostat or a liquid nitrogen/helium container. The new equipment will allow experiments of quantum optics and optical micro-spectroscopy on low-dimensional semiconductors, without the need to consume liquid-He to work at low temperatures (60-100 liters of liquid He per week), as well as experiments using these kinds of semiconductors integrated in photonic devices/chips, since several optical accesses (vertical and horizontal) can be configured. This equipment will be used intensively in experiments mentioned in the European project framework S2QUIP ("Scalable Two-Dimensional Quantum Integrated Photonics"), in which the group responsible for this petition participates, and which has been recently awarded in the framework of the call "FET Flagship on Quantum Technologies", both at the level of tasks charged to the group, as well as others carried out in collaboration with other groups of the consortium.
