    LOS PROCESOS DE UTILIZACION DE MADERAS BASADOS EN EL CONCEPTO DE BIORREFINERIA PERMITEN EL APROVECHAMIENTO DE LAS PRINCIPALES FRACCIONES CONSTITUYENTES DE LA MATERIA PRIMA (CELULOSA, HEMICELULOSA Y LIGNINA), SEGUN PRINCIPIOS DE OPERACION COMPATIBLES CON EL DESARROLLO SOSTENIBLE, LA QUIMICA VERDE Y LA LLAMADA "ECONOMIA CIRCULAR". SE PARTE DE MADERAS DE ALTA DISPONIBILIDAD EN GALICIA, Y SE PROPONE COMO PRIMER PASO LA EVALUACION EXPERIMENTAL DE METODOS EFICIENTES DE FRACCIONAMIENTO (INCLUYENDO REACCION QUIMICA Y SEPARACION DE FASES). LAS REACCIONES QUIMICAS TENDRAN LUGAR EN MEDIOS ACUOSOS (ALGUNOS DE ELLOS EN PRESENCIA DE COMPONENTES NO CONVENCIONALES). LAS TAREAS EXPERIMENTALES INCLUIRAN LA RECUPERACION Y PURIFICACION DE LAS FRACCIONES SEPARADAS; QUE A SU VEZ PODRAN SER UTILIZADAS DIRECTAMENTE, O BIEN TRANSFORMADAS EN ETAPAS INDIVIDUALES O CONSECUTIVAS BASADAS EN REACCIONES BIOQUIMICAS, DESPOLIMERIZACION POR VIA QUIMICA, ISOMERIZACION-DESHIDRATACION O REDUCCION, A TRAVES DE DISTINTAS TECNOLOGIAS (EN PARTICULAR, CATALISIS HOMOGENEA O HETEROGENEA). EN CADA CASO, SE TENDRAN EN CUENTA (DE SER NECESARIO) ETAPAS DE RECUPERACION-PURIFICACION DE PRODUCTOS, ASI COMO LA EVALUACION DE LA CALIDAD DE ESTOS. LOS MEJORES RESULTADOS OBTENIDOS EN EL FRACCIONAMIENTO, SEPARACION Y APROVECHAMIENTO DE LOS DISTINTOS COMPONENTES SERVIRAN PARA DEFINIR UN PROCESO INTEGRADO, QUE SE SOMETERA A EVALUACION TECNO-ECONOMICA.     THE INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES FOR WOOD UTILIZATION BASED ON THE BIOREFINERY CONCEPT ENABLE THE INDIVIDUAL BENEFIT OF THE MAJOR CONSTITUENTS OF THE RAW MATERIAL (CELLULOSE, HEMICELLULOSES AND LIGNIN), ACCORDING TO OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLES COMPATIBLE WITH THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, THE GREEN CHEMISTRY AND THE "CIRCULAR ECONOMY". STARTING FROM WOODS HIGHLY AVAILABLE IN GALICIA, THE FIRST STEP WILL BE THE EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF EFFICIENT FRACTIONATION METHODS (INCLUDING CHEMICAL REACTION AND PHASE SEPARATION). THE CHEMICAL REACTIONS WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN AQUEOUS MEDIA (EVENTUALLY IN THE PRESENCE OF UNCONVENTIONAL COMPONENTS). THE EXPERIMENTAL TASKS WILL INCLUDE THE RECOVERY AND PURIFICATION OF THE ISOLATED FRACTIONS, WHICH IN TURN WILL BE EMPLOYED DIRECTLY OR AFTER INDIVIDUAL OR CONSECUTIVE STAGES INVOLVING BIOCHEMICAL REACTIONS, CHEMICAL DEPOLYMERIZATION, ISOMERIZATION-DEHYDRATION OR REDUCTION, USING A NUMBER OF TECHNOLOGIES (HOMOGENEOUS OR HETEROGENEOUS CATALYSIS AMONG THEM). THE NECESSARY RECOVERY-PURIFICATION STAGES WILL BE ASSESSED FOR THE VARIOUS PRODUCTS, AS WELL AS THEIR QUALITY. THE BEST RESULTS OBTAINED IN THE FRACTIONATION, SEPARATION AND BENEFIT OF THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS WILL BE EMPLOYED TO DEFINE AN INTEGRATED PROCESS, WHICH WILL BE SUBJECTED TO TECHNO-ECONOMIC EVALUATION.
