Se trata de la construcción e instalación de un invernadero de investigación de tamaño mediano (40 X 8 m de dimensión; superficie total, 332 m2) a ser construido en la zona aneja del Jardín Experimental de la Universidad de Jaén. Esta infraestructura permitirá el desarrollo de las investigaciones sobre Biología y Ecología Vegetal, Fisiología Vegetal, Eco-genómica y Biotecnología Vegetal en un entorno ambiental totalmente controlado y automatizado. Esta instalación dará soporte estructural a 7 grupos de investigación diferentes de la Universidad de Jaén, de diferentes áreas de conocimiento y departamentos de la Facultad de Ciencias Experimentales de la Universidad para un total de 10 investigadores seniors y más de 30 investigadores asociados a esos grupos. Las líneas de investigación son líneas ya consolidadas y respaldas por diferentes proyectos de investigación. La construcción del Invernadero de la Universidad de Jaén, refuerza la investigación en Biología Vegetal que se realiza en la Universidad, y representa toda una apuesta de futuro por el mantenimiento de estas líneas de investigación a largo plazo en la Universidad de Jaén. No existe ninguna infraestructura de este carácter en nuestro entorno cercano que pueda ser usada de forma regular por parte de estos grupos de investigación. (Spanish)

To build a mid-sized (332 m2) greenhouse facility at the University of Jaén¿s campus is applied in this proposal. This infrastructure will allow developing research on Plant Biology and Ecology, Plant Physiology, Eco-genomic and Plant Biotechnology under environment-controlled conditions. This facility will provide support to 7 different groups of research from different University of Jaén departments (10 senior researchers and more than 30 researchers associated to these laboratories). Several lines of research that will use this facility are already consolidated and well-supported by external funds. In particular to build the greenhouse at the University of Jaén campus will strength the Plant Biology program in this University and will provide an important support for future research on plants at the University of Jaén at the mid and long term. Finally, there is no a similar facility in our surroundings that may be used in a regular basis for these groups of researchers. (English)
