En esta propuesta se persigue la adquisición de software y equipamiento complementario a los equipos ya disponibles en la Unidad de proteómica adscrita a los servicios centrales de CC. Salud (SCCS) de la Universidad de Cádiz (UCA) y al recientemente creado Instituto de Biomedicina de Cádiz (INIBICA). La tecnología que se pretende adquirir supondrá una ampliación sustancial de las capacidades de análisis que proporciona el actual sistema basado en la tecnología MALDI-TOF, y será de gran interés para la consolidación, mejora y actualización de la unidad de proteómica. Además, muchos grupos, tanto del campo de la biomedicina como de agro-alimentación y medioambiente, adscritos a la universidad, están interesados en la adquisición de los equipos/sotfware que se solicitan. _x000D_ Brevemente, se solicita software para el análisis e identificación de cepas bacterianas (interés biomédico, agro-alimentario, ecología microbiana); equipamiento para la preparación de muestras y software asociado para el análisis de tejidos mediante tecnología MALDI-imaging; mejora del equipo LC-masas mediante la posibilidad de incorporar movilidad iónica, lo cual permite ampliar la identificación de proteínas y otras moléculas (glicanos) mediante una separación extra por tamaño además de la separación por cargas. Todos estos sistemas permitirán dar un uso más completo de los equipos existentes, y permitirá dar mayor cobertua a las necesidades de los grupos que han mostrado su interés en apoyar esta propuesta (Spanish)

The aim of the current application is to acquire software and additional equipment to increase the applicability of the Proteomic Unit at the Core Facility related to Heath research at the University of Cadiz and also to the INIBICA institute. The software and systems to be acquired will allow to increase the applications that the mass spectrometer available actually provide, and it will significantly help to improve the proteomic unit. Many groups at the UCA, from biomedical to food and environmental research, are really interested in appling these techniques into their ongoing projects._x000D_ Briefly, we are asking for a library/software to help with identification of microorganisms (biomedical, food, microbial ecology), an instrument for sample preparation for MALDI-Imaging to analyse protein profiles in tissues, and finally implementation of the LC-MS system by adding ion mobility, which will allow identifying higher number of proteins, metabolites and post-translational modifications by adding an extra-separation step. All these equipments will allow a more complete use of the instruments actually available at the proteomic unit, allowing higher coverage of the research needs around the UCA research groups interested in these approaches.
