The general objective of the project is to mobilise and involve local organisations and disadvantaged communities in Alba Iulia, in order to solve the problems they face, through a multi-sectoral approach. By assuming this general objective, the project contributes to the implementation of the new territorial development instrument proposed by the European Commission for the 2014-2020 programming period, namely Local Development placed under Community responsibility, in order to combat poverty and social exclusion at urban level, by forming a local partnership and implementing Local Development Strategies. The mobilisation, involvement and information of the relevant factors at the level of Alba Iulia and of the people from marginalised communities implies a significant increase of their responsibility in order to increase the standard of living in the territory of the SDL properly delimited within this project. In the short term, by implementing the strategy, the community is solely responsible for prioritising the main solutions for solving the identified problems, taking into account the existing and potential assets of the area. In the long term, the projects prioritised within the Local Development Strategy approved at the level of Alba Iulia Municipality, both on POR and POCU, will generate social and economic changes within the marginalised areas of the SDL territory, by improving the quality of life, increasing social cohesion, improving the living environment and economic growth in the SDL territory.
