Το έργο αφορά την ανέγερση νέου κτιρίου για τη στέγαση του 12ου Δημοτικού σχολείου Πατρών, δυναμικότητας 270 μαθητών, στη θέση του παλαιού το οποίο έχει κατεδαφιστεί,στην περιοχή Υψηλών Αλωνίων, στο κέντρο της Πάτρας στο Οικοδομικό Τετράγωνο (ΟΤ) 90-93.Η ανάγκη ανέγερσης του σχολείου είναι μεγάλη τόσο για την αποσυμφόρηση των σχολικών μονάδων της πόλης στα οποία έχουν μεταγραφεί οι μαθητές του 12ου Δημοτικού σχολείου, όσο και για την απαλλαγή των μαθητών από την καθημερινή μετακίνηση από και προς τα σχολεία προσωρινής μεταστέγασης, η οποία επιπλέον επιβαρύνει το δήμο με σημαντική οικονομική επιβάρυνση.Η παρέμβαση εκτός από το κτίριο περιλαμβάνει και τη διαμόρφωση του εξωτερικού χώρου (αυλή).Στόχος του έργου εκτός του λειτουργικού και οικονομικού αντικειμένου, είναι να επιτευχθεί η τροποποίηση μεταβολή του μικροκλίματος του περιβάλλοντος χώρου του σχολείου προς όφελος του κτιρίου.
