In Romania, the coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV2), a virus that causes a disease called COVID-19. The first priority at the moment in Romania is to protect the health of citizens. The performance of the health system is one of the main pillars. Moreover, a dignified Romania is a Romania where every citizen’s access to quality medical services is respected. In this regard, on 3 April 2020, the Ministry of Health issued Order No 555/2020 on the approval of the Plan of Measures for the Preparation of Hospitals in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. According to this Order, the Plan of Measures for the Preparation of Hospitals in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak is approved. Blaj Municipal Hospital was included in the LISTA with support hospitals for patients tested positive or suspected with SARS-CoV-2 virus, Annex 3 to Order No 555 of 3 April 2020, issued by the Ministry of Health. The general objective of the project is to increase the capacity to manage the COVID-19 health crisis by ensuring the timely and effective response of the medical system of Blaj Municipal Hospital to the COVID-19 crisis and to strengthen the adequate capacity for care and treatment of SAR-COV-19 cases by equipping with equipment/devices/medical equipment/materials necessary for the treatment of suspected/confirmed patients with SARS-CoV2 virus infection. The aim of the project is to create the infrastructure necessary for the timely and efficient response of the medical system of Blaj Municipal Hospital to the COVID-19 crisis. Given that limiting the spread of the SARS-COV-2 virus, as well as its extremely serious effects on the population, can only be achieved by providing the necessary medical equipment for the therapy and monitoring of infected patients, as well as the protective equipment for medical personnel, it is necessary to equip the hospital accordingly, in order to obtain an effective and timely response of the health unit to the crisis caused. The equipment and medical equipment to be purchased within the project are used to achieve the general objective of the project, namely to limit the spread of the SARS-COV-2 virus, as well as its extremely serious effects on the population by early detection of cases infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus, and by providing the necessary treatment to suspect/confirmed patients with this pathogen, including serious and critical cases. At the same time, in order to provide the necessary nurse to suspected/infected patients with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, it is necessary to purchase specific sanitary materials for the treatment of serious/critical cases hospitalised within ITA departments/compartments.
