Wirus SARS-CoV-2 jest czynnikiem chorobotwórczym należącym do grupy koronawirusów i prowadzącym do rozwinięcia się ostrej choroby zakaźnej dróg oddechowych. Kluczowym elementem obrony, kontroli i eliminacji infekcji jest układ odpornościowy. Głównym problemem technologicznym, które Konsorcjum zamierza rozwiązać w ramach niniejszego projektu, jest opracowanie skutecznej terapii wzmocnienia układu odpornościowego oraz zapobiegania zakażeniu koronawirusem SARS-CoV-2 w dobie pandemii COVID-19. Nadrzędnym celem jest wprowadzenie na rynek suplementów diety i nutraceutyków, o potwierdzonym w toku badań in vitro i in vivo, działaniu antywirusowym i wspomagającym odporność organizmu. Ponadto w ciągu ostatnich lat obserwujemy coraz większy postęp w nauce poświęcony liposomom jako nośnikom farmaceutycznym. Mają one nie tylko zastosowanie przeciwbakteryjne, ale i przeciwwirusowe. Dlatego też naszym celem jest zamknięcie witamin, minerałów, związków aromatycznych i biologicznie aktywnych oraz standaryzowanych ekstraktów roślinnych bogatych w polifenole i antocyjany w liposomach oraz zwiększenie ich biodostępności i stabilności. Przy standardowo produkowanym suplemencie diety mamy do czynienia ze stratami substancji wspomagających. Suplement oparty o liposomy gwarantuje dostarczenie zawartego w nim związku. Przyczyni się to do wzmocnienia układu immunologicznego a w konsekwencji do przeciwdziałania rozprzestrzenianiu się wirusa SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2 is a disease agent belonging to the coronavirus group and leading to the development of acute infectious respiratory disease. The key element of defense, control and elimination of infection is the immune system. The main technological problem that the Consortium intends to address under this project is the development of effective therapies to strengthen the immune system and prevent SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection during the COVID-19 pandemic. The overarching goal is to introduce on the market dietary supplements and nutraceuticals, with confirmed in vitro and in vivo studies, antiviral action and supporting the body’s immunity. In addition, in recent years we have seen more and more progress in learning about liposomes as pharmaceutical carriers. They have not only antibacterial uses, but also antiviral applications. Therefore, our goal is to close down vitamins, minerals, aromatic and biologically active compounds and standardised plant extracts rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins in liposomes and increase their bioavailability and stability. With a standard diet supplement produced, we deal with losses of supporting substances. A supplement based on liposomes guarantees delivery of the compound contained in it. This will help to strengthen the immune system and consequently prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
