Metabolic risk, obesity and diabetes mellitus stand at the crossroads that lead both to oncological and cardiovascular disease. Our proposal envisages a joint network of information technology, omics-based systems analysis and public health research, which seeks to unravel the shared and individualized pathways of disease thus taking a crucial step towards precision medicine.
