The metallurgical, mechanical and metal industry in the cross-border area requires equipment that must withstand increasingly severe constraints and strict environmental regulations. Hexavalent chromium plating - the surface coating used to produce other corrosion and wear-resistant coatings - is one of the technologies most affected by these constraints: due to its toxicity, it has been banned since September 2017. However, the alternatives are not satisfactory, making life difficult for companies. The Alt Ctrl trans project therefore aims to come up with effective alternatives to hexavalent chromium plating by meeting the real needs of industrial companies. (English)
