The project provides for the creation (construction, repair and marking) of a 28.11 km section of the EuroVelo11 cycling route between Muszyna and Mníšek nad Popradom; construction of two footbridges on the Poprad River, in towns: Legnava-Milik and Andrzejówka-M.Lipnik (Miliku will house a Cycling Centre); marking of a road section will small intensity of traffic connecting the Poprad Valley with Prešov at the distance of 71.89 km. This section covers the following localities: M.Lipník–Plavnica–Lipany–Sabinov-Veľký Šariš–Prešov; the creation of a Cycling Centre (Milik-PL) and tourist information point in Sulín (SK). The planned stretch of the cycling route will lead, alternately, on the Polish and Slovak side. Its course is as follows: Muszyna (PKP railway station)–Zapopradzie–state border–Legnava–footbridge–Milik-Andrzejówka–Andrzejówka-Ługi–footbridge-M.Lipnik-M.Sulin–Zavodie–Medzibrodie-Mnisek and will join the EV11 section towards Nowy Sącz. Part of the route will cover the cycleways connecting health resorts on the Polish and Slovak side, routed as the so-called “flagship project”. The works will result in the creation of a 100 km (28.11km+71.89km) section of the EV11 route leading from Nordkap (Norway) to Athens (Greece) (the length of this section is ca. 6 thousand km); organisation of sites along the route to obtain the international “CYCLISTS WELCOME” certificate, which will be realised by the non-profit Jantárová cesta organisation from their own funds, promotion and marketing, including route marking, creating a website, a common advertising slogan, preparing materials for cyclists, organisation of events, etc. Thanks to this, a coherent and integrated Polish-Slovak tourism product will be created based on the cultural and natural resources of each partner to the project and generating benefits for each of them.
