The main objective of the project is to reduce the negative impact of water management in Gurievsk and Młynary on the natural environment. The activities planned in the project will ensure stable and efficient water supply in Gurievsk and Młynary and compliance of the quality of supplied water in Gurievsk and Młynarywith the existing requirements. In Gurievsk a complex of waterworks facilities will be reconstructed, including existing water intake (on 3 sites – 14 main wells and 3 reserve wells). Moreover, a water-supply system in Gurievsk will be constructed, including laying of water pipes with the total length of 3,808 m. In Młynary, technical documentation for reconstruction of the water treatment station will be created. Through the reduction in excessive use of water, reconstruction of water supply network in Gurievsk will lead to preservation of groundwater resources. It will have a direct impact on groundwater resources condition in the Kaliningrad Oblast and northern Poland. Development of technical documentation for the water treatment station in Młynary will create the basis for modernization of the station in 2024-2025 years which will further contribute to preservation of groundwater resources for many years after completion of the project. Moreover, the project will become a platform for exchange of experience between the partners. (English)
