The overall idea of the project addresses the issue of maritime cybersecurity which seems an emerging field of common interest among maritime transport industry in the programme area (including port, vessels, cargo and passenger service stakeholders). The proposal develops on the smart specialisation strategies existing or emerging in the involved regions, with the common denominator of the essential role of the maritime sector for future development investments and supporting actions. The result of this project would, therefore, be the launch of a digital innovation hub and the activation of a strong cross-border network of maritime stakeholders to take action on cybersecurity as part of digitalisation in maritime transport. The project’s activities are designed in two thematic WPs, which further elaborate on the main project objective and: (1) set up a digital innovation hub on cybersecurity in maritime transports and develop a specialisation strategy to guide future work of the hub and its network of members/stakeholders; and (2) consolidate the network of stakeholders needed to properly address issues on cybersecurity in maritime transport. The main target groups are defined as maritime stakeholders and IT-companies in the South Baltic Sea Region. Science parks, clusters and research institutions, representatives from the shipping industry and port administrations, but also public maritime stakeholders such as maritime administrations and response organisations.
