ARTACLIM is a cross-border research-action project with the objective to integrate measures of adaptations to climate change in the territorial planning of local communities ARTACLIM answers to clearly expressed needs. In front of the importance of climate changing impacts in Mountains, territories try to find a way to adapt themselves. But none cross-border territories have succeeded to a truly adaptation in their public policies, due to the absence of a real method and formal actions. The insufficiency of knowledges and the inefficiency of tools could potentially lead to inaction, or worst, a “wrong adaptation”. Aware of this constat and in face of the urgent situation, territories have expressed their needs to develop a better taking in consideration of adaptation strategies in their territorial planning and project for the territory. That’s why, to answer to this problematic, ARTACLIM project has been created. The main objectives of ARTACLIM are: • Elaborate, test, and validate a methodology and tools facilitating the appropriation of climate changing issues by territories and the definition of a shared adaptation strategy. • Give the means to the beneficiaries to have sustainable measures and adaptation actions I n the planning, to increase the resilience of the territory. • Develop a global methodology reproducible and transferable to other local administrations in ALCOTRA’s area and beyond.
