Starting point was the conceptual solution for the renewal of the historically very valuable area. The locality to be treated is located in the vicinity of Portz Island. The area as a unit was part of the composed suburban landscape that was built under Cardinal Dietrichstein in the 17th century. It is one of the first generously urbanized suburban landscapes in Moravia and probably also in the wider area north of the Alps. The island area, which is connected to the city with a long brick bridge, represents a unique architectural work of its time, which was still referred to as a landscape jewel at the end of the 19th century. After the drainage of the pond and the construction of the railway, the locality declined. In the years 1949-1989 the area became part of the border zone with Austria and was not accessible to the public. Main objective and expected changes: The project aims to restore and preserve the historically valuable cultural heritage and make it accessible to the public. The project will be implemented through the following steps: - Renovation of a part of the important immovable cultural heritage (17th century), which represents a unique architectural work. - Development of the monument and the associated locality. - Connecting of the locations Mikulov-Sedlec-Drasenhofen. - Construction of a nature trail with service areas and playgrounds. Impact: - Development and preservation of part of the immovable cultural heritage for future generations. - Increasing the attractiveness of the location, expanding the possibilities of leisure activities. - getting to know the Czech-Austrian border area - improving the environment. - Raise awareness of the cultural and historical development in the Moravian-Austrian border area. - Renewal of the historically continuous region Land around Mikulov - Falkenstein, a Czech-Austrian region with a common history and development, whose problems cannot be solved separately. - Renewal and development of the historic road network - Mikulov - Sedlec - Drasenhofen, - The visitors are given a safe transfer to Austria as well as access to the Austrian cycle path network, which was still lacking in this region. Core outputs of the project: - Renovation of the historic bridge. - Development of the site - through the construction and connecting of the road network to the historic bridge. - Construction of the cycle path network with connection to existing cycle paths. - Establishment of an equipped natural trail. The project will be realized in coordination with CCRJM. (English)
