Both Beneficiaries face similar problems: potential of natural and cultural heritage is not used in full extent; the infrastructure supporting the tourism objects should be improved; seasonality of the tourist visits is main challenge for both partners’ area; lack of innovative ideas and attractive cultural tourism offer what could decrease seasonality of tourism flow. Through cross-border cooperation is it planned to increased attractiveness of Rundale and Swisloch territories by stimulating active, sustainable and more effective use of cultural heritage through synergy of culture and tourism in sectors. The specific objectives of project composed to solve the identified problems: (1)improvement of 3 infrastructure objects of culture historical heritage, ensuring accessibility and attractiveness, as well as appropriate quality and comfort for visitors; (2)stimulating to use existing culture heritage resources in full extent in territories of Rundāle and Swisloch Municipalities by obtaining equipment (vitalising existing culture heritage objects, ensuring organisation of new cultural tourism events on basis of newly obtained equipment); (3)developing new additional innovative cultural tourism offer through cross-border (Rundāle- Swisloch) and cross-sectoral (public-private; culture-tourism) cooperation and knew up-to-date knowledge to reduce season character of tourism (organising joint cultural tourism events by synergy of culture and tourism sectors of both partnering municipalities.The planned activities combine improvement of infrastructure and obtain new innovative equipment with increasing knowledge for tourism and culture sector professionals through cross border cooperation. As a result new and innovative culture historical promotional activities on both sides of border will be created, increasing number of tourists by 5 % accommodated per 1000 population in area of project.
