Common challenge of both partners (Hajnowka District and District Executive Committee in Kamieniec) is to increase attractiveness and competitiveness of the cross-border area of the Bialowieza Forest. Main activities of the project will be focused on actions popularizing natural wealth of the Bialowieza Forest on both sides of the border. In Poland, Bialowieza Forest Heritage Center will be founded in a new building located near the Hajnowka – Bialowieza road. The Centre of Tourism and Touring functioning in Belarus will be equipped. Hence, the Bialowieza Forest region will have two centers on both sides of the border undertaking cross-border activities related to its natural legacy. A new trail will be created and the existing routes will be renewed. LB has an extensive experience in development and implementation of quest routes and plans to chart 1 quest in Poland and 3 quests in Belarus. The BY B1 will mark the trail with QR codes. The LB will renew the boards along the routes in Poland by placing QR codes. Partners will establish the Academy of Bialowieza Forest Heritage - a series of activities, such as cross-border bicycle expeditions, thematic walks and a seminar on the cycling tourism will be organized. Nature films and quests will be presented during every meeting. All these activities will touch nature, biodiversity, preservation of the natural heritage of the Bialowieza Forest. The final activities in the project will be: a nature exhibition in Poland and conference on ecotourism in Belarus. Planned activities will be dedicated to residents of the border region and tourists visiting the Bialowieza Forest. Participants from Poland will go to Belarus, while the inhabitants of Belarus will come to Poland. Participation in the project activities and events will be free of charge. Planned activities will contribute to a broader presentation of the cross-border area of the Bialowieza Forest among potential tourists and local people. (English)
