    THE PROPOSED PROJECT CONCERNS THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PILOT PLANT FOR INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTAL DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE MATERIALS, COMPOSTABLE AND DERIVED FROM RENEWABLE RAW MATERIALS, INTENDED TO REPLACE TRADITIONAL PLASTICS DERIVED FROM OIL. THE NEW MATERIALS THAT WILL BE PRODUCED AND TESTED ARE BIO-COMPOSITES BASED ON BIOPOLYMERS (POLYHYDROXYALCANOATES, PHA), LIGNOCELLULOSIC FIBERS OF THE MARINA PLANT, ENDEMIC TO THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA, POSIDONIA OCEANICA BEACHED. THE PROJECT WILL BE DIVIDED INTO TWO MACRO-ACTIVITIES; THE FIRST WILL INCLUDE THE PRODUCTION OF SAMPLES OF PHA FROM MICROBIAL FERMENTATION, WHILE THE SECOND WILL CONCERN THE INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION OF BIOCOMPOSITES BASED ON COMMERCIAL BIOPLASTICS, COMPOSTABLE ACCORDING TO THE STANDARD UNI EN 13432, FOR THE PRODUCTION OF VARIOUS PRODUCTS INTENDED FOR THE FOOTWEAR, FLORAL AND SHOPPERS SECTORS.
