Manufacturing industry is an engine for the regions in North Middle Sweden. The company structure goes from large global companies with strong positions on the global market to small and midsized industrial companies with a regional or national market. Regardless of size orientation and market, the access to competence crucial for the success in both companies and region. There are a lot of ongoing activities in the regions but mostly with individuals in unemployment or school as target-group. Examples are; Industrial Yrkesvux, Yrkes-SFI, Teknikcollege etc. But the individuals in employment at the industrial companies has been somewhat overlooked in this work. Research confirms that companies doesn´t develop inhouse competence in an optimal manner. In a world with rapid development this can become devastating for individuals and companies. At the end both runs a risk of becoming redundant. The partners behind the project has a large network within industrial companies and the individuals employed in these companies, along with competence in education and knowledge in the need for development in the target group. From this base, the project will develop education modules to raise the competence for 100 individuals to better match the demands in a labour market in rapid change. This will in next step strengthen the individual’s position on the labour market and strengthen the competitiveness for the industry in North Middle Sweden. Further effects will come from the models for education developed by the project. These models can, after completion of the project, act as base for further offers to individuals and companies in the region or nation. (Swedish)

(German)
