The project Digilo will work with digitalisation as a tool for improving skills in entrepreneurial subjects. The target group is companies with 1-49 employees in Gävleborg, Dalarna och Värmland. The aim is to strengthen the position of the employees in the labour market, to motivate lifelong learning and to contribute to a more inclusive and equal work life in Norra Mellansverige. PROJECT PERIOD 1 Aug 2020 - 31 Jan 2023. Number of participants: Employees and business leaders of 600 companies. PROJECT OWNER The project owner is the non-profit association Affärskompetens Sverige and the project is run in collaboration with the business organisations Företagarna Gävleborg, Företagarna Dalarna, Företagarna Värmland and Företagarna i Sandviken and the business unit of Sandviken municipality. WHAT’S UNIQUE? The unique thing about the project's offer is to reach the target group where it is located. Through a thorough competence mapping, both the companies themselves and the project group can identify the companies' real needs. This means that the project can offer the right education and the companies gain insight into a more strategic and long-term approach. PURPOSE AND GOAL The project will develop models for competence mapping and skills enhancement for both business leaders and employees in Norra Mellansverige, which contribute to the employer's opportunities to develop the business and take greater responsibility for competence planning. The project will, by creating motivation for lifelong learning, contribute to a continued competitive business sector in Northern Central Sweden, increasing competence and strengthening the position of small business employees so they better match the demands of digital development today and in the future. One of the project's goals for both business leaders and employees, is to change attitudes towards competence development and create motivation for lifelong learning. If you start with small businesses, which create the most jobs, you can eventually influence the whole region's attitude towards learning. DIGITALIZATION Digitalization is not a subject of its own, it is something that is included in other subjects. Companies will not be digitized by themselves if they cannot see the benefits how it can make a difference and make the work more efficient. Our pedagogy always connects theory to practice, knowledge needs to be linked to the individual's own reality and everyday life. Digitalization can also help companies in preparing for crises, such as the ongoing pandemic we have right now. REGIONAL CHALLENGES Norra mellansverige are among the counties that have the lowest educational level in Sweden in combination with the highest unemployment. Both counties face major challenges with employment and integration, while many companies want to grow and need expertise skills. Learning more strategic and long-term work methods, affects the competence increase of the employees and opens up for a broader perspective on more inclusive recruitment. ABOUT THE TARGET GROUPS The majority of small businesses leaders work very hard with their day-to-day operations. They do not take the time to work strategically with their company or to learn new job-saving tools, unless they have to. Previous experience shows that it is important to start by motivating the business leaders to create insight about what skills are missing. A business manager with insight will be motivated to develop and encourage employees to attend training as well. At the same time, the entrepreneur develops leadership capacity and becomes better at delegating, which creates a better working environment and the opportunity for employees to grow. Many times, business leaders do not even know what knowledge they need, and are rarely reached by the business programs and projects available. At the same time, there is a gap in the business promotion system where almost no efforts are made to strengthen existing small businesses. Why the entrepreneurs are very difficult to reach is because they live in a different reality than public servants and they speak completely different languages. The lack of understanding creates a communication gap. By working with another approach when communicating with the companies, we reach the target group more effectively. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORKING METHOD 1. Competence mapping for increased insight and motivation. The analysis is done via a digital tool in group meetings to gain support and inspiration as well as reflection. 2. Education. Short and concrete lessons. The companies and individuals choose from a flexible range of different courses instead of a static program. In each class, people from different companies participate. Some courses are webinars. 3. Follow-up and implementation support. Business leaders are offered meetings with a business developer, individually and / or in groups, to: - identify which courses could have a leverage effect on the rest of the bu (Swedish)
