Large groups of migrants in Linkoping Municipality seeks social welfare when they leave the establishment program, and many of them get stuck in welfare support. This project aims to develop a new method that, directly when the migrants are allocated to residence, identifies the ones who are at risk for a long establishment period. The participants will be offered reinforced, early actions for faster integration. The new method goes beyond the municipal basic commission. The overarching goal is that migrant’s need for long-term support due to shortened establishment time and increased participation in society. The projects target group is migrants with complex needs and multiple problems, like ill-health or disability, low educational level or little work experience, that makes them at risk for a long establishment time. The participants will receive reinforced efforts - workplace training, support from a case manager and health promotion efforts. This will take place in parallel with usual activities, such as Swedish for immigrants, according to their action plan from the Employment Services. The activities in the project will have a mainly individual focus, but once a month dialogue meetings in groups will be held. These meetings will have different themes chosen according to the group’s needs and requests, but may for example be about self-care, gender equality or professional orientation. The project’s efforts will be based on each individual’s needs and have a holistic approach. (Swedish)
