    El proyecto PENDULUM tiene por objetivo técnico general al mejora del diseño de los pilares de apoyo que soportan los módulos SCA para alcanzar unos costes de instalación y mantenimiento más bajos, a través del desarrollo de un nuevo concepto de pilar de apoyo pendular, que reduzca hasta en un 50% la cantidad de acero requerida, y la sustitución de cojinetes por sistema pendular, que permita la expansión térmica, eliminando los problemas de corrosión y fallos de deslizamiento detectados en los sistemas actuales.
