Introduction: Health care for people with chronic heart failure (CCI) is mainly focused on managing the disease and preventing complications, leaving it without addressing essential aspects of their lives. A more person-centred approach is needed and nursing professionals need to have tools to help them approach these experiences. The study of the different tools shows that most focus on symptomatology, functional capacity and some concrete dimensions of daily life. All this highlights the need to develop tools that allow you to know the experience of people with ICC and the meaning it has in their lives. Objective: This project aims to design and validate an instrument to know the meaning it has for the person to live with ICC (UNAV-ENF-Knowing the meaning for the person living with a Chronic Heart Failure) Methodology: The research consists of two methodological phases: the design of the instrument (Phase I) and its validation (Phase II). Study population: Adults with CHF in NYHA Functional Classification II-IV Scope of Study: Cardiac Insufficiency Units of the Hospital Complex of Navarre, Clínica Universidad de Navarra, General Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón, Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre and Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla. Conclusion: The design and validation of an instrument to know the meaning for the person living with CHF will allow nursing professionals to carry out interventions based on scientific evidence and based on the experiences of the people themselves affected by this disease.
