Przedmiotem projektu jest rozbudowa istniejącego laboratorium sieci optycznych Salumanus, niezbędnego do realizacji prac badawczorozwojowych, mających na celu zaprojektowanie, opracowanie i przetestowanie szeregu prototypowych architektur sieci GPON, dostosowanych do zapotrzebowania i wymogów podstawowych grup klientów dostawców internetu tzw. Internet Service Provider. Idea projektu wynika z potrzeby likwidacji barier i ograniczeń, z jakimi spotykają się lokalni operatorzy i dostawcy usług internetowych ISP. Pomimo niewielkich zasobów własnych i zasięgu sieci muszą oni być w stanie dostarczać usługi nie gorszej jakości niż te, które konsument widzi w reklamach telewizyjnych. Toteż z tego powodu ISP powinien być przyłączany do sieci nie gorszej technicznie bo zaprojektowanej i przetestowanej, niż to jest w przypadku dużego operatora, aby być w stanie świadczyć usługi tożsame i w tej samej klasie jakości.Realizowane prace badawczorozwojowe w zaadaptowanych pomieszczeniach na posiadanej i zakupionej aparaturze pozwolą na zaprojektowanie i przetestowanie ekonomicznej i wydajnej topologii sieci, zbudowanej w oparciu o technologię GPON. Projektowane i testowane prototypy sieci będą posiadać innowacyjny charakter ukierunkowany na efektywne wykorzystanie pasma, redukcję konsumpcji energii, wydłużenie zasięgu działania, obniżenie częstotliwości wymiany poszczególnych elementów przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu efektywności cenowej całej infrastruktury.Dzięki optymalizacji kosztów i parametrów technicznych systemów GPON, możliwe stanie się zbudowanie systemów, które w obecnych warunkach są nieopłacalne, co przyczyni się do rozwoju lokalnej przedsiębiorczości oraz stopnia zadowolenia użytkowników końcowych z usług: Internet, TV, telefon.Przedmiotowy projekt posiada co najmniej neutralny wpływ na realizację zasad horyzontalnych UE wymienionych w art. 7 i 8 rozp. Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady UE nr 13032013 z dn. 17.12.2013 r. (Polish)

The subject of the project is the expansion of the existing laboratory of optical networks Salumanus, necessary for the implementation of R & D, aimed at designing, developing and testing a series of prototype architectures of the GPON network, adapted to the needs and requirements of basic customer groups of Internet suppliers. Internet Service Provider. The project’s idea stems from the need to remove barriers and constraints encountered by local operators and ISPs. Despite their limited own resources and network coverage, they must be able to provide services of no lower quality than those seen by the consumer in television advertising. Therefore, for this reason, the ISP should be connected to the network no less technically designed and tested than in the case of a large operator, in order to be able to provide services identically and in the same quality class.Realised R & D in adapted premises on the equipment owned and purchased will allow the design and testing of an economic and efficient network topology based on GPON technology. Designed and tested network prototypes will be innovative in terms of efficient use of the band, reducing energy consumption, extending the range of operations, reducing the frequency of exchange of individual elements while maintaining the cost-effectiveness of the entire infrastructure.Thanks to optimising the costs and technical parameters of GPON systems, it will be possible to build systems that are unprofitable under current conditions, which will contribute to the development of local entrepreneurship and the degree of satisfaction of end-users with services: Internet, TV, telephone.The project has at least a neutral impact on the implementation of the EU horizontal rules listed in Art. 7 and 8 sec.
