ESPAÑA ES EL PAIS CON MAYOR BIODIVERSIDAD NATURAL DE LA UNION EUROPEA CON UNA SUPERFICIE PROTEGIDA QUE ALCANZA EL 27% DE LA TOTAL. EN ESTE CONTEXTO, LA CONSERVACION DEL MEDIOAMBIENTE ES UN ELEMENTO CLAVE PARA AVANZAR HACIA UN MODELO DE ECONOMIA VERDE QUE RECONOZCA LA RELEVANCIA QUE TIENEN LOS ECOSISTEMAS PARA EL DESARROLLO HUMANO Y EL BIENESTAR. ASI, LA SOSTENIBILIDAD DE NUESTROS RECURSOS NATURALES ES, NO SOLO UN GRAN RETO, SINO UNA NECESIDAD._x000D_ _x000D_ CONSCIENTE DE ESTA REALIDAD Y DEL POTENCIAL DE LA OBSERVACION DE LA TIERRA DESDE EL ESPACIO, EL PARLAMENTO EUROPEO APROBO DURANTE 2013 LA FINANCIACION DEL PROGRAMA COPERNICUS-GMES (GLOBAL MONITORING FOR ENVIRONMENT AND SECURITY). UN VERDADERO HITO POLITICO Y UNA APUESTA FIRME DE EUROPA POR LA TELEDETECCION ESPACIAL Y LA GESTION SOSTENIBLE DE LOS RECURSOS NATURALES. DE IGUAL MANERA, VARIAS RECOMENDACIONES INCLUIDAS EN EL DOCUMENTO SPACE RESEARCH IN HORIZON 2020 DESTACAN LA IMPORTANCIA DE LA EXPLOTACION DE LOS DATOS DE LOS SATELITES DE OBSERVACION DE LA TIERRA Y EL DESARROLLO DE NUEVAS TECNICAS DE PROCESADO Y ANALISIS. _x000D_ _x000D_ EN ESTE MARCO, LA FINALIDAD DEL PROYECTO ARTEMISAT ES EL DESARROLLO DE TECNICAS DE PROCESADO DE IMAGENES QUE, ESPECIALMENTE APLICADAS A LOS DATOS DE SATELITES DE ULTIMA GENERACION, ESPECIFICAMENTE SENSORES DE ALTA RESOLUCION ESPACIAL E HIPERESPECTRALES, SIRVAN PARA LA OBTENCION DE INFORMACION PRECISA Y SISTEMATICA EN DIFERENTES AMBITOS RELACIONADOS CON LA GESTION DE LOS RECURSOS NATURALES MARINOS Y TERRESTRES. LA CONSECUCION DE ESTE OBJETIVO SUPONE LA GENERACION DE UN CONOCIMIENTO QUE SE MATERIALIZA EN EL DESARROLLO DE HERRAMIENTAS FIABLES QUE PERMITAN EL ANALISIS, PROTECCION Y GESTION DE LOS RECURSOS TERRESTRES Y LITORALES, DE FORMA AUTOMATICA, CONTINUA, ECONOMICA Y A LA RESOLUCION ESPACIAL Y ESPECTRAL ADECUADA PARA CARACTERIZAR LOS FENOMENOS A ESTUDIAR._x000D_ _x000D_ EN PARTICULAR, SE DESARROLLARAN TECNICAS AVANZADAS DE PROCESADO DE IMAGENES DE TELEDETECCION, QUE PARA LOS RECURSOS MARINOS COSTEROS PERMITAN OBTENER PRODUCTOS VALIDADOS DE CALIDAD DEL AGUA Y DE CARTOGRAFIA DEL FONDO MARINO, CON ESPECIAL INTERES EN LA CLASIFICACION DE LAS PRADERAS DE FANEROGAMAS (POSIDONIA Y SEBADALES), DE ELEVADA IMPORTANCIA MEDIOAMBIENTAL, ASI COMO DIFERENTES TIPOS DE ALGAS POR SUS VALORES ECOLOGICOS Y PARA EL CONSUMO HUMANO O LA PRODUCCION DE BIOENERGIA O BIOPRODUCTOS. ADEMAS, SE DESARROLLARA UN INNOVADOR PRODUCTO DE BATIMETRIA COSTERA DE ALTA RESOLUCION ESPACIAL. DE IGUAL MANERA, EN EL AMBITO DE LOS RECURSOS TERRESTRES SE OBTENDRAN PRODUCTOS PARA LA PROTECCION DE ESPECIES VEGETALES ENDEMICAS, PARA LA VIGILANCIA Y CONTROL DE ESPECIES EXOTICAS COLONIZADORAS, PARA LA GESTION DE LOS RECURSOS FORESTALES Y PARA LA EVALUACION DE LOS IMPACTOS TRAS LOS INCENDIOS._x000D_ _x000D_ EN DEFINITIVA, ESTE PROYECTO SUPONE LA GENERACION DE CONOCIMIENTOS CIENTIFICOS Y TECNOLOGICOS QUE SUPONDRAN UN IMPORTANTE AVANCE EN LA SOLUCION DE UNO DE LOS GRANDES RETOS DE LA SOCIEDAD IDENTIFICADOS A NIVEL NACIONAL Y EN EL H2020. EL PROYECTO SE VERTEBRA A PARTIR DE DOS GRANDES PILARES: LA I+D+I DE CALIDAD, GRACIAS A LA CONSOLIDACION DE UN EQUIPO DE INVESTIGACION CON EXPERIENCIA Y RECONOCIMIENTO INTERNACIONAL, Y LA MULTIDISCIPLINARIEDAD, NECESARIA PARA AFRONTAR CON EXITO LOS RETOS REALES, MEDIANTE LA PARTICIPACION DE INGENIEROS, BIOLOGOS, GEOGRAFOS, OCEANOGRAFOS, QUIMICOS, ETC. ESTE MODELO, JUNTO CON LA APLICABILIDAD DE LA TELEDETECCION A CUALQUIER REGION DEL PLANETA, LE CONFIERE AL PROYECTO UN ENORME POTENCIAL Y UNA CLARA VOCACION INTERNACIONAL. (Spanish)

SPAIN IS THE COUNTRY WITH THE HIGHEST NATURAL BIODIVERSITY IN THE EUROPEAN UNION WITH A PROTECTED AREA THAT REACHES 27 % OF THE TOTAL. IN THIS CONTEXT, THE CONSERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT IS A KEY ELEMENT IN MOVING TOWARDS A GREEN ECONOMY MODEL THAT RECOGNISES THE RELEVANCE OF ECOSYSTEMS TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND WELL-BEING. Thus, the sustainability of our NATURAL RESOURCES is not only a great challenge, but a necessity._x000D_ _x000D_ CONSCIENT OF THIS REALITY AND POTENTIAL OF THE OBSERVATION OF THE EARTH FROM THE SPACE, the European Parliament approved 2013 the financing of the COPERNICUS-GMES programme (GLOBAL MONITORING FOR ENVIRONMENT AND SECURITY). A REAL POLITICAL MILESTONE AND EUROPE’S FIRM COMMITMENT TO SPACE REMOTE DETECTION AND THE SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES. SIMILARLY, SEVERAL RECOMMENDATIONS INCLUDED IN SPACE RESEARCH IN HORIZON 2020 HIGHLIGHT THE IMPORTANCE OF EXPLOITING EARTH OBSERVATION SATELLITE DATA AND DEVELOPING NEW PROCESSING AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES. _x000D_ _x000D_ in this framework, the FINALITY OF ARTEMISAT PROJECT IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROCESSING TECHNICALS OF IMAGENES, SPECIALLY APPLICED to ULTIMA GENERATION SATELITE DATA, SPECIFICAL SENSORS OF HIGH SPACIAL RESOLUTION AND HIGHspectral SERVICE FOR THE OBTENTION OF PRECISA AND SYSTEMICAL INFORMATION IN DIFFERENT AMBITS RELATED TO THE MANAGEMENT OF MARINE AND THIRD NATURAL RESOURCES. The implementation of this mandate assumes the management of a knowledge that materialises in the development of reliable tools that permit the analysis, protection and management of third-party and legal resources, of automatic FORMA, continuum, ECONOMIC AND SPACIAL RESOLUTION AND SPECTRAL ADECTED to characterise the phenomena to be studied._x000D_ _x000D_ IN PARTICULAR, ADVANCED TECHNICAL PROCESSING OF remote detection images, that for marine coastal resources permitting validated water quality and cartogram quality products of the marine fund, with particular interest in the classification of phanerogamas (POSIDONIA and sebadal) prerogatives, with special interest in the classification of phanerogam (POSIDONIA and sebadal) prerogatives, as well as different types of algae by their Ecological Valors and for HUMAN CONSUMPTION or BioENERGY PRODUCTION or bio-based products. IN ADDITION, AN INNOVATIVE COASTAL BATIMETRIA PRODUCT OF HIGH SPATIAL RESOLUTION WILL BE DEVELOPED. De Igual MANERA, in the environment of the third countries, products will be obtained for the protection of endemic VEGETAL SPECIES, for the vigil and control of alien colonising SPECIES, for the management of forest recuRSES and for the evaluation of IMPACTS after INCENDIES._x000D_ _x000D_ IN DEFINITIVE, this project supersedes the management of scientific and technical knowledge that will represent an important AVANCE in the solution of one of the great priorities of the society identified at national level and in H2020. THE PROJECT IS BASED ON TWO MAIN PILLARS: QUALITY R & D & I, THANKS TO THE CONSOLIDATION OF A RESEARCH TEAM WITH EXPERIENCE AND INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION, AND THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY, NECESSARY TO SUCCESSFULLY FACE REAL CHALLENGES, THROUGH THE PARTICIPATION OF ENGINEERS, BIOLOGOS, GEOGRAPHERS, OCEANOGRAFOS, CHEMICALS, ETC., THIS MODEL, TOGETHER WITH THE APPLICABILITY OF REMOTE DETECTION TO ANY REGION OF THE PLANET, GIVES THE PROJECT ENORMOUS POTENTIAL AND A CLEAR INTERNATIONAL VOCATION.
