Containment booms for bridges (also called metallic parapets) are steel barriers that must ensure retention of a vehicle without it impacting the exceeded, thus avoiding vacuum falls. Protective barriers for bridges generate the need to seek a solution to connect them with the containment system which is installed after finishing the bridge (it's what transition will be called) .However, there is no European standard defining the design and requirements for transitions, so different companies manufacture them attributing a secondary character, which does not consider a critical element and therefore raise questions about its operation and degree of protection (no full-scale tests are made). The main objective of the project under certification is the development of a system of transition between containment systems different but adjacent vehicles, ensuring maximum safety on the roads attacking the weak point that occurs at junctions between different systems Vehicle restraint , especia (English)
