El objetivo principal de este proyecto es la caracterización del papel vectorial de Acanthamoeba como reservorio de Legionella spp y su repercusión en: a) la adquisición de patologías infecciosas en el ámbito de la comunidad y en un entorno nosocomial, b) en la modulación de factores de virulencia e interacción con el hospedador; contribuyendo a la mejora del diagnóstico mediante el desarrollo de nuevas herramientas para su traslación al ámbito sanitario. The main objective of this project is the characterisation of the vector paper of Acanthamoeba as a reservoir of Legionella spp and its impact on: the acquisition of infectious pathologies at the community level and in a nosocomial environment, (b) in the modulation of virulence factors and host interaction; contributing to the improvement of diagnosis through the development of new tools for its transfer to the health field.
