Βασικό αντικείμενο του έργου είναι η δημιουργία ενός χώρου αναφοράς για την προβολή και ανάδειξη της βιοποικιλότητας και των προστατευόμενων περιοχών NATURA 2000 της Κέρκυρας και των Παξών, καθώς και για τη στέγαση του Παραρτήματος του Φορέα Διαχείρισης Καλαμά - Αχέροντα Κέρκυρας, ο οποίος έχει αναλάβει τη διαχείριση των προστατευόμενων περιοχών του Δικτύου NATURA 2000 της Κέρκυρας και των Παξών (Ν. 4519/2018).
