    Sukladno stanju u RH, u Međimurskoj županiji trenutno ne postoji niti jedan javni znanstveno-istraživački centar koji bi omogućio provedbu istraživačkih, razvojnih i inventivnih projekata. Međimursko veleučilište u Čakovcu želi ulaganjem u organizacijsku reformu, rekonstrukciju i opremanje Centra održivog razvoja osigurati istraživačko-razvojnu infrastrukturu koja će poslužiti za obrazovanje i provedbu temeljnog, industrijskog istraživanja i eksperimentalnog razvoja u području biokemije okoliša, održive gradnje, automatike i proširene stvarnosti, što će dovesti do povećanja broja primjenjivih istraživačkih projekata u Međimurskoj županiji. Također će se unaprijediti kvaliteta obrazovanja opremanjem novih laboratorija, unaprijediti istraživanje za potrebe gospodarstva, pojačati suradnja između Međimurskog veleučilišta u Čakovcu i drugih istraživačkih institucija, povećati suradnja sa poslovnim sektorom te doprinijeti očuvanju okoliša.     According to the situation in Croatia, in Međimurje County there is currently no public research and research centre allowing for the implementation of research, development and inventory projects. The Međimurje College of Međimurje aims to invest in the organisational reform, reconstruction and equipping of the Sustainable Development Centre with an R & D infrastructure which will be used to educate and implement fundamental, industrial research and experimental development in the fields of environmental, sustainable building, automation and augmented reality research, which will lead to an increase in the number of applicable research projects in Međimurje County. It will also improve the quality of education by equipping new laboratories, improve research for the needs of the economy, step up cooperation between the Međimurje Metropolitan Colleges and other research institutions, enhance cooperation with the business sector and contribute to the preservation of the environment.
