Low level of competitiveness and generally unfavourable business environment, in comparison to EU countries is a problem present in Croatia and Serbia. The shortage of skilled workers and lack of relevant competences in products design, export management, financial management, marketing, is the problem that has implications on the competitiveness of enterprises, which export semi-products and low added-value products. Project aims to address this challenge by improving the access to relevant competences in programme area through improvement of relevant infrastructure and services, training programs for unemployed and companies and establishing transnational networking model, thus raising the overall competence levels and opportunities of the labour force and SMEs. Therefore the main objective of the project is: to contribute to development of institutional infrastructure, services and networks in providing access to appropriate competences to businesses in order to enhance competitiveness and business environment in the cross border area. This will be done through main project outputs: 1. Established 1 cross-border network on enhancing favorable business environment. 2. Created 2 curricula for the needs of SMEs. 3. Established 3 functional training facilities for needs of MSMEs sector. 4. Educated 45 persons in cross border area in business-related competences. 5. 10 companies and 10 persons participated in Mentoring Programme. 6. 10 companies and 5 research instiutions participated in Smart Cooperation Programme. Target groups include: export-oriented SMEs, unemployed young people, business support and research institutions, local self-governments. Project cross-border value is in joint sharing of access to competences among all SMEs of project territory, by using webinars, transnational network of all stakeholders, cooperation with academia, thus creating more favorable business environment.
