A támogatási kérelem benyújtója a Gránit Gyógyfürdő Zrt. A zalakarosi Gyógyfürdő 1965 óta eltelt idő alatt – a fürdő megnyitása óta –többféle gazdasági társaságként működött, gazdasági formává (Zrt.) 1992. július 1-jével alakult. A Gyógyfürdő Önkormányzati többségi tulajdonban lévő társaság. A tulajdonosi struktúra: a társaság 97 százalékban Zalakaros Város Önkormányzatának tulajdona, a Gránit Gyógyfürdő Részvénytársaság Dolgozói Közhasznú Alapítvány dolgozói 3%-ban a részvényesei. A zalakarosi Gránit Gyógyfürdő 2015. évben ünnepelte alapításának 50. évfordulóját. 1962-ben kőolaj után kutatva 2307 méter mélyről feltörő 96 fokos, ásványi anyagokkal dúsan telített termálvizet találtak. Erre alapozva kezdődött el a fürdő építése 1964-ben, s a létesítmény a következő év szeptemberében már meg is nyílt. Hamar népszerű lett bel- és külföldön egyaránt: eddigi vendégrekordja 1988-ban volt, amikor 891 503 fő vendéget fogadott, fennállása óta eddig majdnem 28 millióan látogatták a fürdőt. Az elmúlt 50 évet a folyamatos fejlődés jellemezte Zalakaroson. A településsel együtt a fürdő is bővült, s gyarapodott. A létesítmény megnyitáskor csak egy 340 négyzetméteres termálmedence és egy kisebb gyermekmedence állt a vendégek rendelkezésére, amely rövid időn belül kevésnek bizonyult, ezért 1968-ban egy sportmedencével bővítették, majd 1971-ben egy újabb, 520 négyzetméteres termálmedence készült el. A következő fontos dátum a fürdő életében 1975 volt, ekkor adták át a Zalakaros jelképeként is ismert „legyező tetős” fedett fürdőt, amellyel a fürdő négy évszakossá vált, télen-nyáron folyamatos nyitva tartással tudott üzemelni, majd 3 évvel később 1978-ban hivatalosan megtörtént a karosi víz gyógyvízzé nyilvánítása is. A következő komoly beruházás 1991-1992-ben történt, ekkor jött létre a gyógycentrum, vagy más néven gyógykert, majd néhány évvel később, 1999-ben felavatták az ország első fedett élményfürdőjét is. 2000-ben a Zalakarosi Fürdő beltéri élményfürdő projektjéért a fürdő Innovációs Nagydíjat kapott. A fejlesztések az ezredforduló után sem álltak le, sőt a korábbinál is intenzívebb mértékben szépült, gyarapodott a fürdőóriás. A népszerű hullámmedencét és a kültéri élménymedencéket 2002-ben alakították ki, majd a következő évben a strandi termálvizes medencék teljes rekonstrukciójára, valamint egy strandi vizesblokk megépítésére került sor. A strandi főbejárat fogadóépülete, a tetőtér beépítés és a felújítás 2004-ben valósult meg, majd 2005-ben a fedett élményfürdő további bővítése következett, ekkor épült meg az uszoda, a népszerű fekete lyuk csúszdával. 2008-2011. között megvalósított kiemelt projekt keretében a fürdő fogadóépülete 2010-ben nyerte el impozáns külsejét, 4 szinten, 5200 m2-en, majd a fedett fürdő gyógyászati részlegének rekonstrukciója következett a wellness és medical wellness kezelőhelyiségek kialakításával. 2011 nyarán készült el a strandon a többcélú homokos sportpálya, majd 2012-ben nyitotta meg kapuit a gyerekek kedvenc létesítménye, a kültéri Vízipók-Csodapók gyermekvilág, egy többszintes gyermek élmény medence komplexum a hozzá tartozó száraz játszóházzal. 2013-ban adták át a Vízipók gyermekvilág beltéri változatát is, amely az élményfürdő uszoda csarnokának átalakításával nyerte el jelenlegi formáját. A kültéri és beltéri Vízipók gyermekbirodalomban közel 250 féle vízi attrakció, élményelem várja a gyermekeket. A strandon és a beltéri gyermekvilágban képzett animátor csapat kínál egész évben programokat. A programkínálat kialakításánál fókuszban a mozgás és az egészséges életmód állnak. Ugyanebben az évben végezték el a „legyező tetős” fedett fürdő és a környezetében lévő pihenőterek teljes felújítását, új fittness medence létesült, valamint egy csupa üveg lépcsőházzal érhető el a strandkert. 2014-2015-ben a fürdő területén az összes gasztronómiai egység megújult, új büfék, és éttermek nyíltak, a régiek lebontásra kerültek. A Zalakarosi Fürdő alig fél év alatt megvalósult új fejlesztését 2016. június 16-án vehette birtokába a nyaraló közönség. A fürdő eredményességének köszönhetően saját erőből, 300 MFt-os költségvetéssel hozta létre az új csúszda együttest, melynek egyes elemei egyedülállónak számítanak a dunántúli fürdők kínálatában. Megvalósult, a fürdő területén lévő Termáltó és ökopark kialakítása, ahol az elfolyó termálvíz hasznosításával biztosítják a tó vízkészletét. A tó mellett készült el az ország legmagasabb szárazföldi csúszdája, tóparti sétaút, fogadóépület és mesedomb. A fürdő beruházásai során nagy figyelmet fordít a megújuló energia hasznosítására. A komplex épületfelügyeleti rendszer és automatizált frekvenciaváltós üzemeltetés bevezetése segítségével üzemeltetik a kutakat, épületeket, medencéket, fűtés-és szellőző rendszert. A fürdő vezetése közel 7 milliárd Forint tárgyi eszköz érték növekményt valósított meg, ez a szám 334 millióról (1992) 7 milliárd 320 millióra (2014) nőtt. In 2000, the Bath was awarded the Grand Prize for Innovation for the indoor adventure bath project of Zalakaros. The developments did not stop after the turn of the millennium, and the bath giant grew even more intensively than before. The popular wave pools and outdoor adventure pools were built in 2002, and the following year a complete reconstruction of the thermal pools on the beach and the construction of a beach water block were carried out. The reception building of the main entrance to the beach, the attic and the renovation was carried out in 2004, and in 2005 a further expansion of the covered adventure bath followed, when the swimming pool was built with the popular black hole slide. In the framework of a priority project carried out between 2008-2011, the reception building of the spa won its impressive exterior in 2010 on 4 floors, 5 200 m², then the reconstruction of the medical section of the covered bath followed by the establishment of wellness and medical wellness treatment rooms. The multi-purpose sandy sports field was completed on the beach in the summer of 2011, and in 2012 the children’s favorite facility, the outdoor Water Slippers children’s world, a multi-storey children’s experience pool complex with its dry playhouse opened its doors. The indoor version of the Children’s World of Water Shoes was also presented in 2013, which gained its present form through the transformation of the swimming pool hall of the adventure bath. The outdoor and indoor Water Skips are located in the children’s empire with nearly 250 kinds of water attractions and experience elements. On the beach and in the indoor children’s world, a trained animator team offers programs throughout the year. The design of the program offers focus on movement and a healthy lifestyle. In the same year, a complete renovation of the indoor bath with “floor roof” and the resting areas in its surroundings was carried out, a new fittness pool was built and the beach garden can be accessed with a glass staircase. In 2014-2015, all the gastronomic units in the spa area were renewed, new buffets and restaurants were opened, the old ones were demolished. The new development of the Spa of Zalakaros took place in just six months on 16 June 2016. Thanks to the effectiveness of the bath, he created the new slide ensemble with a budget of 300 MFt, some of which are unique in the offer of the Transdanubian baths. The establishment of a Thermal Park and Ecopark in the area of the bath has been realised, where the water resources of the lake are ensured by using the thermal water. Next to the lake, the country’s highest land slide, lakeside walking path, inn building and mesedomb were built. In the course of its investments, the bath pays great attention to the use of renewable energy. They operate wells, buildings, pools, heating and ventilation systems through the introduction of complex building monitoring systems and automated frequency inverter operations.
