    THE CONTROL ALGORITHMS CURRENTLY USED IN POSITIVE YARN FEEDERS, USED ON KNITTING MACHINES, ARE BASED ON PID ARCHITECTURES. THESE SYSTEMS HAVE A NUMBER OF DISADVANTAGES, WHICH CAN BE SUMMARISED AS: IT REQUIRES CALIBRATION OF THE CONTROL PARAMETERS FOR EACH TYPE OF YARN USED AND LOW PERFORMANCE UNDER CERTAIN WORKING CONDITIONS. THE PROJECT WILL LEAD TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ADVANCED CONTROL SYSTEM THAT EXCEEDS THE LIMITS OF THE CURRENT SYSTEMS, MAKING THE AUTO ALGORITHM ADAPTIVE TO WORKING CONDITIONS AND THAT WILL INCREASE PERFORMANCE IN CRITICAL WORKING CONDITIONS.
