PRODUCIREMOS MODELOS 3D DE PATOLOGÍAS DE NEURODESARROLLO, NEURODEGENERATIVAS Y TUMORES CEREBRALES.     THE LACK OF APPROPRIATE IN VITRO MODELS OF THE HUMAN NERVOUS SYSTEM HINDERS THE UNDERSTANDING OF PATHOLOGICAL MECHANISMS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF DRUGS. THIS PROJECT AIMS TO GENERATE, THROUGH INNOVATIVE METHODS OF GUIDED GENERATION OF ORGANOIDS AND 3D BIOPRINTING, NEW 3D MODELS OF THE HUMAN NERVOUS SYSTEM BASED ON BRAIN CELLS DERIVED FROM INDUCED PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS (IPSC). IPSCS CAN BE DERIVED FROM ANY INDIVIDUAL BY REPROGRAMMING THE CELLS OF THE BODY, AND THEN CONVERTED INTO ANY TYPE OF CELL OF INTEREST. WE WILL PRODUCE 3D MODELS OF NEURODEVELOPMENTAL PATHOLOGIES, NEURODEGENERATIVES, AND BRAIN TUMORS. WE WILL ANALYSE THESE DISEASE MODELS TO STUDY THEIR MECHANISMS, AND TO ASSESS WHETHER THEY CAN BE USED FOR PHARMACOLOGICAL TESTING AND FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS.
